Motsuyaki in Mitaka city Arai-ya The premium tongue I ordered filled my mouth with aged umami, and every bite made me happy. The harami was tender and juicy, and paired perfectly with the sauce. The loin had just the right amount of fat, and grilling brought out its fragrant aroma, making it even more delicious. I highly recommend the assorted offal platter too; I enjoyed a wide variety of fresh offal. Arai-ya's high-quality ingredients and warm service are wonderful, making it a place I'd definitely like to revisit. It's perfect for a lively time with friends or family, and an irresistible recommendation for motsuyaki lovers!
View on GoogleIt's a hidden spot around Mitaka Station, but my top recommendation. All the meat is fresh and delicious, making it hard to rank, but the honeycomb tripe and harami were especially superb😋. The vegetables are delicious too; the king oyster mushroom's flavor seemed to spill across my tongue. The staff are pleasant, and seeing them chatting happily with regulars left an impression. Personally, I'd place it among the top 3 yakiniku meals I've ever had. It wouldn't be surprising if it were more popular and drew more customers. I highly recommend it to anyone interested♪.
View on GoogleA small counter-only restaurant about a 10-minute walk from Mitaka. You can enjoy high-quality grilled offal and shochu from across Japan. The motsupon with fat that melts in your mouth, wonderfully crisp-textured liver, and heart are superb. Since you sit at the counter with a charcoal grill between you, it's best to visit as a pair with a drinking friend or partner. Enjoying plenty of drinks and meat costs about 5000〜6000円 per person.
View on GoogleAn offal restaurant about a 5-minute walk from Mitaka Station's south exit. Every kind of meat is delicious. When I want to order various kinds, I choose the available half portions rather than full servings. It opens at 17:30, but the owner goes directly to the wholesaler first thing in the morning to buy meat, so I feel it's always fresh. There's a wide selection of drinks too, and the relaxed, calm atmosphere inside makes it comfortable.
View on GoogleI love the quality meat and the restaurant's atmosphere. It's counter-only, seating about 8 people. You can grill carefully selected meat and offal on a shichirin charcoal grill. They seem particular about shochu too, and let you try drinks you don't know. The owner is friendly, so you can enjoy a meal even on your own.
