A lovely, heartwarming restaurant that has been open for 37 years in the Azabu-juban area near Higashi-Azabu and Shirokane. The beautiful, gentle lady owner, よしこさん, gracefully serves a variety of obanzai. The obanzai menu includes year-round and seasonal dishes, made with gentle, captivating seasoning that brings out the ingredients. Care is taken with the brightly colored plates and bowls, too. They had a full range of alcoholic drinks, and fine labels available for customers' bottle-keeping service. I enjoyed a quiet meal at the counter seat where 志村けんさん once sat. Apparently, 和田あき子さん and others have visited, too. 〈Dishes I had〉 (Appetizer) ⚫︎インカの目覚め potato salad ⚫︎Nanohana dressed with shirasu ⚫︎Buri daikon ⚫︎Wakasagi nanbanzuke ⚫︎Gindara saikyo-yaki ⚫︎Tebasaki The buri daikon was especially good, with tender buri, delicious atsuage, and seasoned boiled eggs—a very appealing original creation. The lady owner, who is apparently from Hokkaido, remains very elegant with a wonderful sense of style despite her advancing years. Thank you for the cozy, relaxing time.
View on GoogleThe lady owner runs it alone. The flavors are strong and make you keep drinking, but perhaps because she uses good mirin, they're not harsh. It's soothing.
View on GoogleA restaurant mainly serving dishes from large platters. Every dish is indeed very delicious, but it's far too expensive given the feel of the place. Also, the atmosphere is very uncomfortable for anyone who isn't a regular.
View on GoogleA place run by one motherly lady. Every dish was delicious, and I had a lovely time.
View on GoogleThe many dishes unique to the elegant, warm lady owner make me want to say, “I'll be back.
