Well that was a nice way to spend a couple of hours on a chilly February day. Warm, welcoming with cool jazz and definitely the best pastrami sandwich we have ever had. The original sauce..👌

It’s a great bar if you love jazz and single malt whiskey. And if you love them, you’d know they are not cheap ;) Owner is an amazing person with an incredible vinyl collection. This bar was founded around 45 years ago. Some vinyls are signed by artists who visited the bar in the past half century. This bar offers an experience like no other.

A stark contrast to Akasaka's glitzy atmosphere, this is a quiet, old-fashioned jazz bar. A refined lady proprietor welcomed us. Given the location, there seem to be many non-Japanese guest.

This is a jazz kissa (jazz bar) in Akasaka-Mitsuke area. Difficult to find. No food, just drinks. The owner runs the bar since 1976, plays jazz music from his collection of 5000 vinyl records.

Wonderfully intimate and welcoming space. The proprietress has an encyclopedic knowledge of all things jazz, oftentimes accurately dating albums release dates, musicians involved in said albums, related movies and such. You can tell she lives and breathes music, and of course, because as she revealed her previous location in Harajuku operated for 34 years, and this location for 15. She tries to join in on English conversations, though if you know some Japanese it would for sure be a boon.
