Umami Burger Aoyama Shop
If you're looking for a hamburger restaurant in Omotesando, please stop by. The “UMAMI” in UMAMI BURGER comes from the Japanese word umami. It was named UMAMI BURGER because its American founder, Adam Fleischman, developed a cooking method to bring out the maximum umami in his burgers. This hamburger restaurant is highly popular in America, having been named “Best Burger of the Year 2010” by the US edition of “GQ” and one of “The 17 Most Influential Burgers of All Time” by “TIME” magazine.

We stumbled upon this Umami Burger shop while exploring the streets of Omotesando, seeking a culinary adventure beyond Japanese cuisine. And boy, did they deliver! I opted for the Umami Burger, accompanied by Onion Rings and thin fries seasoned with Cajun spices. These combinations are simply unbeatable! The burger was bursting with freshness, juiciness, and an incredibly rich umami flavor. The friendly staff, led by Nanako Tsuji, added to the delightful experience. Her warm smiles, attentive service, and thoughtful recommendations made our lunchtime a truly memorable one.
View on GoogleReminiscent of hipster burger joints, it has a very stylish low key feel. The atmosphere is upbeat with western pop hits playing in the background. It was relatively easy to get a seat. The burgers are interesting, they are flavourful, the presentation is fun and generally tasty. We tried umami burger, truffle burger and old fashioned smashed and truffle one seemed to be the best for us. The patty style though seems more blitzed than minced, giving it a very thin, smooth texture more like a cutlet than a burger patty. It also gets a bit dry as a result. This is more true for their "smashed" variety. I can see how this can be an individual taste but I prefer meatier, thicker patties. We tried the indulgent bacon and maple syrup fries, they definitely have potential but unfortunately there is way too much maple syrup and not enough bacon flavour, making them way too sweet. I loved the grilled onion rings in panko though, chunky and delicious! All in all, a nice pitstop if you are craving a filling, quick meal but the burgers themselves are just decent average.
View on GoogleThey have 2 options of vegan burger, which both tasted good. The fries were tiny and okay. Service can't speak english, so the woman couldn't answer our questions about the toppings and sauce of the Fries. Overall it was good, but we wouldn't come back as it's just way too expensive.
View on GoogleThis place is little expensive. They have one vegetarian(falafel burger)and one vegan (botanical burger)option. A lot of non vegetarian options are available too! Do not forget to try the shakes there. They have quite a few fancy and well decorated shakes. I tried the chocolate love shake which can easily be shared by two people. The quantity and contents of the shake makes it difficult for one person to finish it. The staff is quite particular about the restaurant timings. Currently due to covid they close by 9pm and the last order is at 8.30pm.
View on GoogleIts a nice burger place with Chicken, ham, vegetarian and vegan burgers. My favorite is Pico de Gaya burger which is double ham burger with guacamole, nachos and salsa inside it. Chilli Cheese fries are great. I also tried their popular chocolate love fancy shakes which had nice toppings of brownies, oreos, MnMs and whipped cream. But they are too heavy for a single person as it has too much cream. I recommend sharing it with someone. Also the restaurant is strict with closing time and is not flexible with late arrivals and/or time extensions.
