Great food and service

I love old-fashioned coffee shops, so I stopped by! This time I ordered omuhayashi (1,650円)! It came with a salad! Judging by the price alone, this isn't a place focused on value for money, but it was delicious! Rather than the Western-style food you often see these days, it felt like old-fashioned “Japanese Western cuisine,” which is personally the kind I like! When I visited, the owner was handling everything alone, from cooking to payment! Combined with the atmosphere, it felt like a place that's been around a long time! Be aware that payment is cash only! Just one thing: the air conditioning wasn't very strong, so it might feel a little hot on hot days! Even that added to the old-fashioned coffee-shop feel! I think it would suit people who like this kind of atmosphere! I'd like to stop by again if I get the chance!

Introducing the homemade Hamburg steak for 1,250円 at Restaurant Toranomon, a Japanese Western-style restaurant in Toranomon, Tokyo. This old-fashioned restaurant near Toranomon Hills is run single-handedly by the owner, so it gets very busy at lunchtime. When you think of Japanese Western-style restaurants, you think Hamburg steak! So I ordered the homemade Hamburg steak. It arrived on an iron plate without any visible sides, covered generously in what looked like thick demi-glace sauce. There was also a salad topped with potato salad and a reasonably generous serving of rice. The Hamburg steak was tender enough for a knife to glide through. Coat it in rich demi-glace, touch it to the rice, and dig in! It was my first time, but this old-fashioned Hamburg steak felt somehow nostalgic. Delicious! I couldn't see any sides at first, but thin plain pasta was hidden beneath the steak. I coated that in demi-glace too and ate it with the rice. The colorful salad was delicious as well. Properly prepared food. With the generous plate of rice and the pasta hidden beneath the steak, I was full by the end. Five of us visited for a workplace farewell party. Since it was Friday night, we made a firm reservation and ordered the spare ribs in advance. We started with spare ribs and bottled beer (Sapporo), followed by fried horse mackerel, German potatoes, crispy bacon, omurice, omuhayashi, and omelet cutlet curry. Everything was delicious and perfect with drinks. We had 2 bottles of beer and one bottle of red wine, coming to around 3000円 per person. A delicious, fantastic dinner. Since the owner runs everything alone, we timed our orders to avoid interrupting his cooking. The regulars who came in later seemed to understand this too, which made me think what a lovely place it was. I'll visit again. Thank you for the meal!

A retro Japanese Western-style restaurant. The owner runs it alone and seems busy. I ordered cutlet curry for lunch. It comes with salad, macaroni, and soup. The curry is thin and delicious. They don't give you a spoon, so you eat it with a fork, but it really isn't difficult.
