大かまど飯 寅福Torafuku Aoyama Honten
"3-minute walk from Omotesando Station. Dishes made with fresh fish sourced from markets nationwide and seasonal ingredients, plus our signature ≪Big Kamado Rice≫. We are an 【eatery for grown-ups】 where you can also enjoy a drink. Our pride is our 『Big Kamado Rice』, made by cooking carefully selected rice in a large kamado stove. Please savor its subtly sweet flavor and aroma, its fluffy softness, and its fine stickiness."

I was in the mood for a Japanese set meal (定食) and came across this place in my search. It’s got a cool vibe and is super cozy, with lots of seating options. I ordered the ginger pork (生姜焼き) and it was delicious. You can pick what kind of rice you want, get free refills, and enjoy a variety of side dishes such as miso soup and pickled vegetables. Service was fast and friendly and price reasonable. Definitely worth a visit.
View on GoogleAs a light eater who appreciates moderation, I loved how clean and refined the food was without being overly rich or heavy. Kaki-fry was hands down the best I’ve had since my last trip.
View on GoogleA solid Japanese set-meal restaurant in Aoyama. The portions are generous, the flavors are well-balanced, and everything feels freshly prepared. I especially enjoyed the fried dishes and the variety of small side items that come with the meal. Great value for the price and a comfortable spot for a casual lunch or dinner.
View on GoogleDinner menu still includes some sets and, even though is not the cheapest (around ¥1,990 for these special ones we got BALANCE set and STAMINA set) the set was HUGE with a good diversity of dishes! On lunch time might be better deals but we found it actually very good for foreigners/tourists since it’s an easy place and you can try many things :) They don’t offer an English menu, however the staff is amazing. Also, if you follow their ig and you will receive either a complimentary beer, drink or side dish (we got a karaage). For some meals you may refill your rice (white, brown and special rice options are available).—> the chestnut rice for fall is really good!
View on GoogleOne of my favourite Japanese restaurants, we tried the charcoaled fishes, karaage (fried chicken), pork belly, ginger pork, fish soup, tamagoyaki (japanese omelette), and a mix of renkon (lotus root) and gobo (burdock), all delicious.
