My first time at a traditional Japanese confectionery shop @"Toraya" This traditional Japanese confectionery shop maintains beauty, courtesy, cleanliness⋯ like a beautiful work of art, you can discover beautiful creations in every corner. Stunning! I admire how this shop has kept passing down Japanese flavors and standards. No wonder Japanese people who want high-end sweets always come here to buy them. Of course, the prices won't be cheap!

I saw the exhibition "The Paris That Wagashi Met" at Toraya Akasaka Gallery. It let you easily trace, through photos and materials, the journey of the Toraya Paris store and the history of confectionery culture and exchange between Japan and France. There weren't many items on display, but each one was dense with content, so even in a short time there was learning and discovery. I could view it quietly in a calm space, and I was impressed all over again by how wagashi crossed borders. I'm glad I made it during the exhibition period. Looking forward to the next one too.
