"Tonkatsu Kagurazaka Sakura" is a tonkatsu restaurant with its main store near Bishamonten Zenkoku-ji in Kagurazaka, Tokyo. With the theme of "thick-cut feast tonkatsu from carefully selected brand pork", we're particular about the meat, rice, oil, and cabbage in our cooking. Commitment No. 1: "Meat". Our handpicked brand pork, ideal for tonkatsu, is raised with attention even to its feed; the fat is sweet and the meat is fine-grained and tender, so you can enjoy the meat's natural umami. This tender, high-quality selected pork is cut thick, and after your order is placed, each cutlet is carefully coated in panko one by one and slowly cooked at low temperature until tender and juicy, so even thick-cut, it's easy to polish off. The tonkatsu was very good and not oily at all, which made it easy to enjoy. The bell pepper tonkatsu was also delicious and a nice variation from the usual options. Cabbage is unlimited, which is always a plus, and the rice was excellent, very flavorful and well cooked. The soup was shell-based, which was interesting, although I am not sure it fully matched the rest of the meal. The ambiance is calm, with lounge jazz music playing in the background, which creates a pleasant dining environment. Service was smooth and efficient. That being said, the place feels a bit crowded. WiFi is available and is a MUST if you need to stay connected. Cost performance felt good considering the quality of the tonkatsu and the overall experience. A solid option if you are looking for a well-executed tonkatsu meal.

Tasty tonkatsu in decent portions and with various choices of sets and individual menu items. Basement restaurant with counter and table seating. Reasonable pricing. Good quality rice. Quite a pleasant place to sit and eat quietly. Set meals are decent value. Various sauces etc. available for tonkatsu and for salad. Not too noisy usually but might be when full.

I love how the rice is freshly and perfectly cooked in a claypot! The tonkatsu is crispy and very juicy inside. Love how welcoming the staff are. In the busy street of akasaka with full of vibrant and all kinds of restaurants this one is a great find! Super fulfilling and hearty meal.

This is the best tonkatsu in Akasaka. For the last 4 years that I visited Tokyo every month, this is the restaurant I went every time. The rice in the clay pot is very well cooked. And the tonkatsu is perfect. The staff there are good in English too. I have dropped all other tonkatsu restaurants in Akasaka since then.

A must go place for me. Rice cooked and served in claypot. Tonkatsu is fabulous 👌. Go early or prepare to queue. Oh! Don't just queue, please write your name and indicate number of pax on the registration form as they will call accordingly. Visited twice in the span of 6 days. Truly enjoy my meal there.
