Tokyo Little House
The 1st floor is a café with exhibitions. The 2nd floor is a hotel with just one room. This little house has watched Tokyo change ever since 1948, when expanses of burned-out ruins still remained. A cafe and gallery downstairs: upstairs, a hotel with only one suite. From a field of ruins in 1948, our little house has watched the city change.

Loved this coffee shop. It was about a 10 min walk from our hotel. We ordered two oatmilk lattes and the cinnamon toast. The baristas were very nice, and there was an older lady who seemed like she was the owner and she seemed like she was just so happy to be there. Simple things like that is a great way to start the day! Like many small coffee shops seating is limited and intimate. The coffee shop has a ton of books about Tokyo so it was fun to flip through some of them. Overall great vibe, great coffee, and good cinnamon toast.
View on GoogleHighly recommend for coffee/tea, snacks, and the opportunity to experience a bit of history from the area. The espresso was delicious, affogato with ice cream even better. We enjoyed a coffee and cheese bread snack and while we were waiting learned all about how this building is an original wooden building. It was the last postwar wooden building left on the street, then renovated into a cafe on the first floor and hotel above. They have a book all about the renovation and history of this area. Also be sure to grab the pamphlet that has the history of the house on one side and guide to the local Akasaka area on the other.
View on GoogleHad a wonderful experience at Tokyo Little House. I ordered a latte and a matcha latte, and both were delicious. The coffee was smooth and flavorful, while the matcha had a rich, authentic taste and was perfectly balanced. The atmosphere was very cozy and comfortable, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a drink. The staff were also incredibly friendly and welcoming, and they spoke English well, which made the experience even more enjoyable and convenient for international visitors. Highly recommended if you're looking for great coffee, quality matcha, and a warm, relaxing atmosphere in Tokyo! ☕🍵✨
View on GoogleI had an oat milk matcha latte and granola with honey and yoghurt - it was sweet with the matcha. The latte was the perfect balance of creaminess and bitterness. The atmosphere is stylishly rustic and cozy, with a collection of books about the histories of Tokyo, plus an interesting old map of Tokyo on the wall. The lady making the drinks was sweet and welcoming 🌞 Thank you so much ✨
View on GoogleI came to the cafe nearly every day I was in Akasaka. If you’re looking for a calm place to relax and have one of the best matcha lattes out there, this is the spot to go to. The ambiance and service is impeccable. They are so nice and soooo good at what they do. Definitely stop in if you get the chance!!
