I came wondering what kinds of shops were inside, but it's mostly restaurants and medical-related places. There's a wide range of medical places, about as complete as a general hospital? It's near the station, so it seems convenient. The restaurants are stylish and not too expensive, but probably not prices for eating out every day. The monument is really great and the space has a wonderful feel. I'd like to come eat here next time.
View on GoogleIt's very spacious, with stylish interiors and lighting, and it's a facility worth visiting. It's still NeWoMan Takanawa, but it has a different vibe from Link Pillar 1 next door, which makes it fun. There are lots of shared sofas, chairs, and tables, so you can also eat takeout you've bought from the restaurants in the building.
View on GoogleA commercial building directly connected to Takanawa Gateway Station. It's mostly a medical mall and restaurants, but the inside is super stylish. Kicking back over tea or having lunch here is totally a thing too. It's a dreamy space, you should visit at least once. That kind of building!
View on GoogleEnglish translation below It wasn't as crowded as I expected. There were no partition walls in the restaurant area, so I could watch everyone eating at empty tables all over the place. The kitchens are almost all open kitchens too, so you can watch the cooks at work. The rooftop space looks down on the trains, so the night view might be beautiful. There's no roof, so you'll get wet on rainy days. Overall, it felt really upscale. It wasn’t as crowded as I’d expected. View on GoogleTHE LINKPILLAR 2 (The Link Pillar Two) is a super-high-rise mixed-use building in Block 3 of "Takanawa Gateway City," a large-scale redevelopment project in Takanawa, Minato Ward, Tokyo, about 200m north of Takanawa Gateway Station. Led by JR East, this redevelopment began as a plan to make use of the vast former Shinagawa rail yard, once used as storage tracks for trains and a maintenance base. It's a super-high-rise mixed-use building with 31 floors above ground and 5 below, about 167m tall, close to Sengakuji Station, and it opened in Reiwa 8 (2026). Fully equipped with medical facilities, fitness facilities, and childcare facilities, it focuses on "Medical & Wellness" to improve the health and quality of life (QOL) of workers and local residents. The 2nd–3rd floors host the concept area of "NEWoMan TAKANAWA," run by Lumine, offering a refined dining space where you can experience artisans' handiwork up close through open kitchens and more. On the 1st floor, the "Chikutei Gallery" (Embankment Gallery) has opened to showcase historic remains excavated on site during development, blending historical value into a cutting-edge city. An energy center with one of the largest thermal storage tanks in Japan is installed underground, efficiently supplying heat to the whole district while supporting BCP (business continuity planning) in emergencies. It serves as the hub of a new urban model looking 100 years ahead, achieving at a high level both everyday functions that support daily health and infrastructure functions that protect the city in case of disaster.
