Didn’t know about the place and went in because of the smells after I visited nezu. Beautiful bowl of tendon with very fresh ingredients. Waiting time might be a little long because the chef is essentially frying the items on his own but taste wise, absolutely splendid.

The moment I touch down Haneda, I will head straight to this little gem. I'm so happy to see the 84yo is still serving up the best tempura in Tokyo. It has the most delicate batter and it's almost like a private dining atmosphere. Cash only

Glad to finally try this store after walking past it for decade. Was always the case esp when we were en route to Butagumi. Had the honor being seated in front of the fry cauldron & seeing chef with his deftly hands despite age. The taste is def refined, clean and so filling. Wanted to order a second lunch set but was too shy! Next round and see you chef. Be healthy for many good years ahead Ps the tempura set while more expensive, had oysters that the tendon doesn’t and possibly others too

We ordered tempura set and it was cooked beautifully 🙂‍↕️ The owner was kind and friendly. Gave me an extra veggie tempura. Im glad that they understand English language. The place is homey and pleasing too.

Best tempura I've had. I have 3 young kids and the owner and his helper/ wife was very accommodating. They allowed the 3 of them to share one set menu, found ways to combine chairs to fit my family of 5 in one table (this place is literally a hole in the wall), and provided kids utensils for them. I was very touched as I can't imagine they have many kids customers. During the entire dinner service, the owner and his wife came to check on us several times, to make sure that we had enough food, rice etc. Excellent service aside, the food was equally awesome. The tempura batter was so light and non greasy. My favorite were the oyster (crispy on the outside, soft and creamy on the inside) snd various japanese fishes. This was one of my most memorable meals cos you can taste the sincerity, craft and passion of the person cooking it. To be 84 years old and still have the heart to cook up such delicious food is truly remarkable.
