View on GoogleI went into the Chinese restaurant 梅蘭. I ordered the 梅蘭 yakisoba and the gomoku fried rice, and they were served without much of a wait. The yakisoba's noodles were pan-fried so they were crispy and fragrant, and the ingredients that appeared from under the noodles had a mild flavor suited to Japanese tastes, so I could eat it with peace of mind. I thought the fried rice was a little oily, but not enough to bother me, and I finished this one too. I'd like to go again.
View on GoogleSince it's hot, I went for seafood. I had the Hokkai Kaisendon. On top of a rice bowl: vinegared rice, scallops, salmon, ikura, snow crab, and a giant botan shrimp! It's on the small side, but all the sashimi is fresh and full of umami—isn't it pretty hard to get something this fresh in Tokyo? Seafood is a lifesaver because it doesn't heat your body up even when it's hot. It comes with udon or karaage. There are seafood bowls with big portions where you have to wonder about the sashimi's freshness, but this one, small as it is, is very satisfying. Also, eating inside a boutique-like building lifts your mood too.
