かね正(Kanesho) is a long-established sushi restaurant(sushi) on Sotobori-dori(sotobori dori) in Shimbashi(shimbashi), Tokyo(tokyo), operating for over 90 years since its founding in 1933 while preserving the flavors of previous generations, with food served by its 3rd-generation chef(edo-kko), who was born and raised in Shimbashi. The chef is fluent in English(english speaker), and the restaurant, which welcomes many overseas guests, has a relaxed atmosphere with counter seating and a raised seating area. The sushi at Shimbashi Kanesho(shinbashi) is authentic, traditional Edomae sushi(edomae) made with seasonal ingredients. Especially the simmered dishes cooked right there…

One of the best omakase sushi in town! Such a cozy and heartwarming place. It truly feels like coming home, where your mom and dad are waiting with a lovingly prepared sushi meal. Every piece was crafted with care, and the quality was simply exquisite. Easily one of the best sushi experiences I’ve had in Tokyo. The warmth of the chefs and the homie atmosphere made it even more special. I’ll definitely come back again the next time I’m in Tokyo ❤️🍣

A very quaint mom and pop sushi restaurant. Nothing fancy but it feels like your dad is making you sushi. You are given options of 5-6-7 pieces of 3,000-4,000-5,000 Yen. The chef decides what to serve you. Fresh and amazing flavour. We left the restaurant feeling like we were just at home with mom and dad taking care of us.

Cute third generation mom and pop omakase for a very affordable price! The almost 50 year married couple were so welcoming and nice.

I wonder why this place does not come out in any Google restaurant search. Walked in by chance, the sushi chef and owner is very friendly and wanted to share his knowledge of sushi. Chef suggested what to have and started an amazing dinner. Everything is very good. Most items he suggested are not the common sushi most restaurants serve outside of Japan.

Tonight’s dining experience turns out to be the best I l’ve yet had in Tokyo. Tried the best eel sushi in my life (such a shame that it was the last piece in stock), no fancy techniques but well balanced flavours. Uchiyama san was not only an amazing sushi chef, but also an amazing person. He was polite, humble and fluent in English. He also shared his lifetime hobby, which I’ll leave it for you guys find out when you come in person. -From a grateful and very satisfied customer:)
