Good reasonable Chinese restaurant in AJ

A local Chinese diner my regular hairdresser told me about A lunch menu along the lines of stir-fried pork and cabbage. I like the seasoning. Nice that it comes with shumai too. It also comes with salad and soup. You can get in without waiting, but regulars kept coming in nonstop — a place loved by the neighborhood!

Just a little way in from the street in Azabu-Juban is「新香飯店」． I love its air of a machi-chuka that has carried on in this town for a long time． This day I had 『Ramen』 and 『Chukadon』． The 『Ramen』 has an unpretentious soy sauce profile, with thinnish noodles that go down easily． The toppings are kept simple, and as a lunchtime bowl it settles into the body at just the right pace． The 『Chukadon』 isn't the type that relies on heat and volume, but one that builds satisfaction through the density of its toppings． The "layer" of vegetables and ingredients is thick, and the time it takes to reach the rice is fun． Very satisfied with a place in Azabu-Juban where I can "reboot my everyday"． Thank you for the meal．

A Showa-era style Chinese restaurant. Drawn in by the Shaoxing wine jars at the entrance, I went in for lunch. It was a nostalgic set-meal style, and I was happy it came with shumai. The flavor was on the strong side, as you could tell from the color, but it gave me energy. Most people had the ramen and mapo lunch set. My one regret is not getting to drink Shaoxing wine.
