Came here for the second time for the delicious Oden. The chief cooked one by one carefully without compromise. It bears the reward from Michelin and it tells the truth. Besides from oden, they serve the best tuna as well. And don't forget the Japanese sake they select. It is a perfect pairing to all dishes. Recommend it easily and we'll come back next time.
View on GoogleI was just rejected and turned away on a cold Thursday night because I’m not fluent in Japanese. “Sorry, no English 🙅🏻♀️”. I stretched my Japanese ability to ask if they had any seats, which they did, but still did not want to serve me and my partner. This struck me as odd, because this place has a number of English reviews on Google, and they proudly display the Michelin award out in front. This place looked interesting and was tucked away in a corner in the alleyways, but that’s about as much as I can say. A business is allowed to serve whoever they want, but overall it was disappointing because we travelled by taxi to this location and weren’t even able to eat here. I don’t often write reviews, but wanted to leave one here just in case anyone experiences the same.

View on GoogleWell this must be a locally known restaurant for Oden, a winter dish of simmered fish cakes, daikon and other ingredients. There was one Japanese chef in the kitchen but all the other chefs are westerners. Doing a great job. Our hotel booked this place for us at 3,500 yen each. On arrival we discovered the same menu is 2500 yens. Oh well, we are apparently stuck with the higher price. Still, the food is quite nice. The interesting part is the sake. One can have premium sake poured by portions into a large glass standing in a wooden box. The sake is poured into the glass to over flow until the wooden box is full too. Definitely come again without the "help" of a hotel reservation.
View on GoogleAn acceptable but rather average experience. There is an impression that perhaps the Michelin Bib award has gone to their heads. There are better Oden experiences to be found in Tokyo, just need to do a bit more research. Will not repeat
