We had the Seasonal Fish and Kuroge Wagyu Tasting Comparison Course, which included eight dishes in total. The portion size was just right, satisfying without being overly filling. The dining experience was quite intimate. We shared a room with another couple (there were like 6 seats in total), and every dish was prepared right in front of us. It was clear that the ingredients were very fresh, from the fish and vegetables to the wagyu beef. Since it was a wagyu-focused course, I expected all of the meat to be extremely rich and juicy. However, the tasting comparison included both a leaner cut and a more marbled one. Personally, I preferred the leaner cut, it was incredibly tender, easy to chew, and absolutely delicious. It was served with mustard, which complemented the flavor nicely, although it was just as enjoyable on its own. The more marbled cut was a bit too rich for my taste, and I couldn't quite finish it, but that's purely a matter of personal preference. The dessert was also a pleasant surprise. It was an eggplant ice cream (or perhaps a sherbet), which sounded unusual but tasted surprisingly good. It wasn't overly sweet, making it a refreshing finish to the meal. Those with a stronger sweet tooth may prefer something sweeter, but I appreciated its light and subtle flavor. One thing I especially appreciated was that my clothes and hair barely smelled like smoke afterward. Usually, after visiting a teppanyaki or yakiniku restaurant, the smell tends to linger on everything. Here, however, that wasn't the case at all, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Overall, it was a memorable dining experience with fresh ingredients, skillful preparation, and a well-balanced course menu.

Everything about this meal was excellent. While they have a set meal, they allowed us to order a-la-Carte. We had our own tiny little room with sliding Sochi doors, and it was intimate and perfect. The foie and truffle custard and Wagyu dishes were outstanding. Honestly, everything was except the hotate which did not seem sushi grade. In their defense, they accommodated our request but perhaps they should have refused given the quality. We loved the “streaming” bento box full of little surprises. All in all, this was an excellent meal with great suggestions on sake pairings. Yura, our server, helped us decide on menu choices, and she made our stay delightful. We loved having her!

Had dinner with friend at Shari Akasaka in Tokyo. We ordered the set meal. The food was delicious. Service was very good and courteous. Definitely a good recommendation if you are in the neighborhood. The waitress or chef will explained each dish but in Japanese. The chef is very friendly. Overall highly recommended.

Superb food and service! We have had many wonderful teppanyaki meals at different Tokyo restaurants, but our experience at Shari Akasaka is the best so far. What sets this restaurant apart is the precision, skill and service of the chef, a very personable Chef Fukui-san, who prepared each course with utmost finesse. Each course was sublime with the right flavours and presentation. Chef Fukui’s style was elegant and it was fascinating watching his preparation and cooking. Service was impeccable and attentive, and also very welcoming and friendly - what really topped the evening was the chef walking us to the door after the meal. What a special dining experience which we highly recommend!

Amazing special meal for my husband's birthday while we were on holiday in Tokyo. Greeted at the door by our chef, who led us to our private dining at the Teppanyaki bar. The meal was sublime! Service was spectacular! I would definitely recommend for a special meal.
