I go there weekly and always order Saba fish with a raw egg to mix with the white rice. Can’t go wrong with this set. It’s tasty and reasonably priced. 🐟👍
View on GoogleA place where the saba shioyaki set is popular at lunchtime. It comes with rice, miso soup, and oshinko for a reasonably priced 900円. With a large serving of rice for 50円 and a half portion of assorted sashimi (tuna, octopus) for 350円, it totals 1300円. The saba shioyaki has thick, springy flesh. Perhaps it's grilled with a distinctive marinade (fish-sauce-based?), which removes the mackerel's fishiness while bringing out its savory flavor. People who like their fish salt-grilled will probably find it delicious. For the sashimi, the chunky pieces of tuna were very good. The octopus was good too, but I don't think there are many places in Tokyo serving sashimi of this quality at this price.
View on GoogleFatty saba is lightly sprinkled with tasty salt and pepper, then grilled directly over a gas flame until plump and tender. The miso soup with thick wakame is quite salty, but still delicious. Eating out often means having fried food, so a Japanese restaurant like this is a welcome sight.
View on GoogleI've only visited at lunchtime, but this is my go-to place for saba shioyaki around Tamachi. It's very fatty and delicious. The rice and miso soup are excellent too.
View on GoogleMy first visit for lunch. After a little indecision, I ordered the saba shioyaki set for 1000円 listed at the top of the menu, and it was the right choice. It was grilled to perfection, and I felt like I'd had a proper set meal. The saba itself did seem slightly small, though, so considering the amount of rice, perhaps I should have added another dish.
