We went to Sagara our first night in Tokyo. After having difficulty discovering which establishment it was on its restaurant packed street, we were ushered in with smiles and greetings. As with most Tokyo restaurants, Sagara has a lovely space. Because we were compelled to order a set course menu by Tabelog, a difficult reservation website, several of our dishes were unknown to us and tasted just okay. Sagara specializes in Soba noodles, and they were fantastic. Towards the end of the evening the staff became much friendlier and engaged us in a pantomime of conversation. Certainly, my sake helped. When we left, we were laughing and bowing continuously. Sagara was great fun.
View on GoogleOur favorite restaurant in Japan after a 14 day trip. The soba noodles was amazing, best we had in Japan and is freshly made. The sashimi and raw seafood was fresh, tasty and phenomenal. We highly recommend this restaurant. We met the owner and executive chef - he is a great guy and handwrites his menu every day. His calligraphy was very pretty.
View on GoogleLovely Soba Ya in the Heart of Akasaka bustling alleys , it’s a place frequented by locals despite its touristy vibes , the chef or soba master was a true gentlemen ( as opposed to the hostess who seemed to be short tempered ) the duck soba was exceptional
View on GoogleMy second visit and still I love soba here! especially the Chinese Yam soba was exceptional!!! Also recommend to have a thick noodle :)
View on GoogleExcellent soba shop. Staff was kind and hospitable. They took extra care with our allergy concern despite a language barrier. The food was incredible. The restaurant was beautiful and spotless. Definitely recommended! It gets busy but would be worth the wait.
