Had the pork loin omelette. It is really delicious and hit the spot. They provide free tea. This is in a building off to the side of the station on the first floor. You can access it via the station and take the stairs up within the building or you can access the area where the restaurant is at from the street level.
View on GoogleA bit hard to find as it’s inside the building but My favourite Don-Katsu experience in Tokyo hands -down. You know the place is lit when it’s packed with Japanese salary man during lunch time👌 5/5
View on GoogleThe kind of place you feel like visiting now and then… that is what this restaurant is. It mainly serves fried food with coarse breadcrumbs that does not feel greasy. Paired with the shredded cabbage with free refills, beer and the various hai drinks are a fantastic combination. I tried the mini katsudon for the first time, and the fillet cutlet cooked with egg was perfect as a finishing rice dish. The loin cutlet sandwich is delicious too. Thank you for the meal. I will be back.
View on GoogleA standing-bar fried-food paradise in Shinbashi Maruya was particularly lively. My timing was good, and I managed to get a spot at the end of the counter. With what looked like more than 30 customers, 4 smiling staff members were handling orders at lightning speed. Impressive. Looking around, I had thought the cabbage came by default, but it was on the menu, so I ordered some. The shiokara and croquette, and tomato katsu caught my eye, things I do not usually eat at Maruya. A crisply fried croquette topped with salted fermented squid. This croquette is a snack that goes perfectly with a highball. With the tomato wedges, I wondered how they fried them without anything leaking out, but one bite revealed they were incredibly hot, so be careful! Delicious with either soy sauce or Worcestershire sauce. Maruya, with its cheap and delicious tonkatsu, is indispensable for a tonkatsu lunch in Shinbashi. And its standing-bar version was a constantly bustling fried-food paradise. Kaku highball ¥400- Cabbage ¥150- Shiokara and croquette waltz ¥400- Tomato katsu ¥400-
View on GoogleI stopped by while traveling between places. It was lunchtime, so there was a line of 7〜8 people, but turnover was fast, so I joined without hesitation. They take your order while you wait, so the bowl arrived quickly after I sat down. The katsudon, with a little extra sauce, was reliably delicious. The set meals at their sister restaurants are good too, but katsudon wins for lunch! The ¥200 set with shijimi clam soup, cabbage, and pickles is a must. I would like to visit leisurely in the evening too and have a mega highball. Thank you for the meal.
