Elegant, subterranean Italian restaurant focusing on Puglia, with pasta, meats & imported wine.

Cortesia is an Italian restaurant in Minamiaoyama, Minato-ku, Tokyo, serving cuisine from Puglia in southern Italy. Casually enjoy the food and wine of Puglia, the heel of southern Italy... That is the kind of southern Italian restaurant we are in Minamiaoyama. Based on Puglia's regional cuisine, we offer simple dishes using plenty of seasonal organic vegetables, along with olive oil and pasta from Puglia itself, as well as rare Puglian ingredients found only at our restaurant. Our varied lineup of around 150 approachable Puglian wines with natural flavors is also unparalleled in Tokyo. Bring color and a blissful moment to an enjoyable meal. Young and old, men and women,…

Delicious food starting with the usual highlight of authentic starters from Puglia, over to great seasonal pasta, then perfectly stewed or grilled meat or fish for the main and finishing off with a wonderful dessert. All accompanied by superb wine from Puglia recommended by the Chef de service. Very friendly staff.

What an outstanding restaurant! We decided to dine here on a whim as we happened to be shopping in this neighborhood. We were greeted warmly upon entering and our servers were very accommodating to our needs. The food was fantastic with a strong focus on fresh ingredients. We started off with the mixed salad and the caprese salad for our appetizers. These appetizers were delectably light and very healthy. My main course was the beef with olive oil and arugula salad. The beef was very tender and flavorful and the arugula tasted so fresh. The meal was ended with a dessert of granita and gelato. Both were excellent. Dining here made for an excellent end of our day out in Tokyo. We are very appreciative of having had such a great dining experience. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Autumn season specialty - Monte Bianco モンテビアンコ and Porcini mushroom pasta are most popular among those who have been going to the restaurant over 10 years. Must try when you are in Tokyo in Autumn season!

When I went there around 20:00 Wednesday, the place was deserted. It got me little worried, but after being served a nice glass of spumante and awesomely fresh salad, then I started feeling pretty good about having this experience all by ourselves. This is Puglia cuisine, not a typical Italian food you are accustomed in Japan. It is all about extracting the essence of each ingredient to the highest presentation, and according to myself, a man who lived in Puglia for 3 years, it is safe to say that the chef Ebe is the master of art. The art of subtraction. I had spaghetti with cardoncelli and ricotta which was amazing. My date had linguine with sea urchin. Hand made pasta was also very fresh and cooked to perfect al-dente. We were in 2, had antipasto/primo/secondo and shared a desert. (fig gelato...I'd come back for this too). We had 2 glasses of spumante, some fresh juice, passito, and espresso. It costed us around 7,000 yen per person. I would say it is extremely cheap for what I had experienced for good 2 hours of relaxed time with awesome food. I'd hate to see if the place will be crowded, but I feel sorry to see such a nice place empty on weekday night. So I decided to share my experience. Thank you again for Chef Ebe, and Mr Kato, and to all other nice people at the place helped us to have a wonderful evening.

The food was delicious, with reasonable prices! I recommend the assorted appetizers, a little bit of everything you need. Was particularly impressed with the service, got some tomato sauce on my shirt and the waiter immediately showed up with a stain remover! Would come back.
