The owner decides what you have (at fixed price 1000 yen): usually very good! Small and cosy place!
View on GoogleVisited alone a little after 12:30 on a weekday. I could sit down right away. (About half the seats were occupied.) The lunch menu is fixed at 1,000円. Even though it's a little far from the station, this selection and portion size for 1,000円 is excellent value. It's not just the value—the fried squid, salad, thick fried tofu, and shumai were all delicious… The coordinated tableware and elegant presentation of the side dishes also make it a pleasure to look at. Bossa nova (jazz-like?) was playing inside, creating a calm space. The person who seemed to be the manager was gentle in manner and apparently remembered every regular's name, saying, “◯◯, thank you as always.” It was a rare place where lunch felt truly pleasant. To offer an analogy without worrying about being misunderstood, and though the reference is rather sudden, I thought this might be what it would feel like if “ほぼ日” started serving lunch. I'd like to visit again. The food arrives relatively quickly after you're seated, so if you have allergies, I recommend checking the menu contents carefully before entering.
View on GoogleThere are only counter seats, making it suitable for eating alone or with one other person. There are various side dishes, so it's satisfying. The chicken was especially delicious! The gyoza weren't freshly made, which was a little disappointing, but it's a one-person operation, so it can't be helped.
