Having explored the pasta scene extensively across Japan, as my other reviews can attest, we consider this our premier find. The quality here is truly on another level and the experience was so compelling that we found ourselves ordering three different pasta dishes. Among them, the three mushroom porcini cream pasta was particularly memorable for being incredibly creamy and rich with umami. The uni cod roe pasta also hit the spot because of the freshness of the uni. The kitchen specializes in a mochi-mochi style of pasta. This offers a distinctively chewy texture that is highly satisfying and differs from the traditional Italian al dente. It’s a uniquely Japanese way of eating pasta. We found the atmosphere to be genuinely local and vibrant, filled with people engaged in lively conversation. It was a pleasure to dine at our own speed and soak in the atmosphere while eating. The service was friendly and it was clear they had developed a rapport with some of the patrons. A highlight of the evening was meeting an English-speaking NHK reporter who joined us in conversation and added to the overall warmth of the experience. This remains one of our absolute favorite dining memories in Japan and is a destination we highly recommend.
View on GoogleAmazing fresh pasta!! The store itself is small, counter seats only, and there’s always a queue for lunch. I arrived a little past noon and waited for about 20 minutes, but the food was definitely worth the wait. I ordered: 釜揚げしらすと大葉とフレッシュトマト (whitebait, perilla, and fresh tomatoes) + bread on the side and an appetizer The pasta was absolutely fantastic. The noodles thick and chewy fresh noodles were tossed in olive oil with a strong garlic taste. The perilla and tomatoes were refreshing and kept the taste from being too heavy. The flavors were well balanced. A top notched pasta in Tokyo. On the other hand, the bread and appetizer were not so memorable. Next time I’d get the pasta on its own without getting the set.
View on GoogleI had lunch here on a weekday and was pleasantly surprised to be seated immediately without any wait. Opting for the carbonara, I found it to be quite enjoyable. The pasta was cooked to a softer texture than I typically prefer, but I understand that pasta doneness is a matter of personal taste. By the time I finished my meal, a queue had formed outside, indicating the restaurant’s popularity.
View on GoogleHighly popular Italian restaurant. If you don't come really early, you'll most likely have to wait outside (thus avoid rainy days). I wouldn't recommend the lunch combos, but the fresh pasta was fantastic! Crowd Size: Very High Serving Speed: Fast Payment Method: Cash (looks like PayPay is an option)
View on GoogleFood was delicious, all the staff was super friendly and kind despite the language barrier. Drinks were really good too. Everyone enjoyed their meals, from our kids to their grandma! Cute little joint but show up before rush hour as they can only sit 12 people at a time :)
