View on Google【The best Okinawan eatery I found in Juban】 『沖縄料理 しゅうずかん』 ①A relaxing space with an Okinawan feel ②An eatery serving affordable Okinawan food ③So comfortable you'll want to come every day I happened to find this Okinawan eatery in Juban. It's about a 5-minute walk from exit 1. It's near Naniwaya supermarket, famous for its delicious roast beef. It looks thoroughly Okinawan from the outside, so I think you'll spot it right away. It took a little courage to go inside, but once I did, the atmosphere was really lovely. A dad and mom run it together, and the place feels warm and kind. The food, the important part, all had that same sense of care. The dish that stood out most was goya no aemono. I'd never heard of it before, but the bitter melon is mixed with tofu, and it's really delicious. An intriguing dish that's simple yet full of flavor. The classic chanpuru and umibudo were delicious too. We had both the goya and somen chanpuru and were completely satisfied. It's also nice that you can leave your bottle there for next time. We ended up finishing a whole bottle between 2 of us, so there was nothing to leave, but I'll have awamori again next time‼︎ Thank you for the meal.
View on GoogleOld-fashioned Okinawan cooking tucked away at the edge of the Azabu-Juban shopping district. They weren't serving lunch, so we went as a family for dinner. The somin chanpuru was nicely done and generously portioned, but my daughter finished it all. Since it was my first visit, I had classic Okinawan dishes like rafute, taco rice, and Okinawa soba with Orion beer in an ice-cold glass!
View on GoogleVery delicious. Cheap prices even though it's in Azabu!!! A place I've loved for ages. If you feel like going to Okinawa, come here first!! The green papaya salad and chanpuru are staples too.
View on Google2022/10/24 「しゅうずかん」, a long-established Okinawan restaurant in Azabu-Juban operating since 1975. Perhaps because it was a coffee shop before becoming an Okinawan restaurant, during lunch from 11:30~L.O.14:30, except Sundays when it's closed, coffee-shop lunch dishes such as hamburg steak, pork ginger, and omurice-style curry dominate over Okinawan dishes like chanpuru. These are also popular customer orders. Smoking is allowed at all seats. Nobody shows you to a seat; everyone picks whichever seat they like. 「Chanpuru set (goya chanpuru, soba, rice)」1,200円 You can enjoy goya chanpuru and Okinawa soba together. The goya chanpuru contains a reasonable amount of bitter melon, but it's bulked out with bean sprouts, and the scrambled egg has sunk to the bottom, making the presentation a little questionable. It tastes delicious and really goes well with rice. The slightly firm rice gets a ○. The Okinawa soba looks rather sad, with only a little pork belly and red pickled ginger. The taste is ordinary, with nothing particularly noteworthy. Add koregusu to taste if you want some heat. Payment is cash only. For smokers, this is a rare lunch spot where smoking is allowed these days, and someone's always smoking during lunch, so for nonsmokers...
