This was my first visit to the Ocha Culture Creation Museum in Simbashi, where most of the visitors are green tea enthusiasts. Here, we can learn about how tea was introduced from China and then perfected in Japan. We also learn how ITO EN produces green tea to become one of the world's largest Ready To Drink products. In addition, there is also a sharing session with a Tea Expert if you are lucky enough to visit on that day. It was truly a valuable and unforgettable experience visiting this place. Thank you, ITO EN & OI OCHA.
View on GoogleThe Tea Pet Bottle Making experience was a lot of fun and definitely a highlight of our visit! It was genuinely engaging and educational to see how the famous Oi Ocha bottles are made. However, I have to agree with other reviewers that getting reservations online, even on weekdays, was incredibly difficult. It felt like trying to win a lottery! They really need to streamline that process or offer more slots. The museum also has a tea shop which is beautifully set up, selling a variety of souvenirs, desserts, and of course, different types of tea drinks. While the selection was good, I found the prices to be very steep across the board. It felt quite pricey for what you were getting, even for a museum gift shop. Overall, it's an interesting place for tea lovers, especially for the bottle-making experience. Just be prepared for a challenge with reservations and the cost of items in the shop.
View on GoogleDefinitely worth a visit if you are interested in Japanese tea in general. It is both a museum about the Oi Ocha brand but also about Japanese tea. Takes about 45 minutes to see it all. They speak English and are more than willing to explain everything to you. You can even grind your own matcha both the modern and ancient style.
View on GoogleA tiny tea museum with a paid entry section (500 yen) with a few rooms introducing the history of the tea culture in Japan. It includes a film and a few interactive exhibits. There is also a free section with a small exhibition (currently on the production of pet bottle tea and the use of tea leaves in recycling). A small cafe serves tea and you can also buy tea related souvenirs in the shop. It's very much away from the crowds if you wanted to take a calm break from the city and learn about tea.
View on Googlethe museum is smaller than expected it's an one room exhibition but i signed up for the label workshop and it was fun they have various workshop for you to choose but you'll need to book in advance I would recommend to visit if you want some unique experience to do while visit
