I've used this place for lunch and evening gatherings for over 20 years, but hadn't had the chance recently, so I visited for lunch for the first time in several years. It was before noon, so the restaurant was quiet. Lunch Nigiri A comes with 8 pieces plus tuna and cucumber rolls, while Lunch Nigiri B has 10 pieces, and both offer an optional “3 extra pieces.” There are also seafood rice bowls, the manager's choice nigiri, and other options. Every lunch menu item comes with hot udon or a bowl of miso soup. Since it had been a while, this time I ordered Lunch Nigiri B with 3 extra pieces (1,320円), which arrived after a few minutes. It's always been this way, but the nigiri here have large portions of rice. Some have more rice than topping. Eating 13 pieces like this leaves you very full, which personally makes me very happy with the value. I also noticed a few people around me ordering “less rice.” As for the all-important taste, it's reasonably tasty for the price. With so much rice, the topping's flavor is inevitably less prominent, but I was satisfied enough. On my way out, I looked at the display samples and gave a wry smile at how different the topping sizes were from reality. Next time I think I'll try the seafood rice bowl (limited to 30 servings).
View on Google【Chef-made sushi with a conveyor-belt-sushi feel and large rice portions, suited to lunch】 Since it's a budget lunch, the toppings are satisfying enough if you don't expect too much. My impression is that this value in this location is pretty impressive. The rice in the seafood bowl is tasty too, and with this much food, it keeps you full until dinner. What bothers me is the elderly male server's apparent inability to read the room, and the person who seems to be the manager constantly muttering without regard for customers. It's popular, but service is fast, so tables turn over fairly quickly. The udon included in the set is properly tasty too. Since there's little direct harm, I'd like to use the place while accepting those shortcomings.
View on GoogleUsed it for a company drinking party. The requirements were: around Toranomon, able to issue an invoice-compliant receipt, completely nonsmoking, a private room, no hotpot, no shared dishes, and a budget of 7,000円. This was the place that matched them all. Once the course starts, pitchers of beer come out almost automatically. When a pitcher empties, they keep bringing more. Without being asked. Despite it being all-you-can-drink, the atmosphere makes it feel like you can't have anything but beer. So you need to order with a bit of determination if you want your own choice. They also brought sake, saying it was complimentary for reservation customers. That was unasked for too, so it was an unwelcome favor. And in a one-sho bottle, no less…. The elderly female server kept pouring it into decanters without listening to our orders. I can't drink alcohol, so when I ordered a nonalcoholic beer just for myself, she gave me an openly displeased look. Later, when I ordered oolong tea, it came with a glass and a decanter. The tea in the decanter was lukewarm, and once the ice in the glass melted, I had to drink it at room temperature, so honestly I can't say the service was very good. I'd like drinks served normally, one glass at a time. All the food was delicious and the portions were just right, not excessive, so it was disappointing that the poor service—or excessive service?—made it difficult to order the drinks we wanted. If you're going to use this place, I think you should state clearly at the outset: please don't bring pitchers we haven't ordered. The staff might give you a displeased look, though. Or perhaps it was just bad luck getting this particular elderly server.
View on GoogleA guy from work brought me here for my first visit. There was quite a wait between the udon (miso soup) being served and the sushi arriving. The sushi rice portions are huge. The toppings are slightly dry. There's enough food to feel like you've eaten sushi, but it's not that tasty. About half had a tremendous amount of wasabi. It makes you want to sing 不思議な第三惑星. And those udon noodles—what are they? I feel like I've eaten something like them before, but there's no springiness, no chew, a zero-gluten kind of feel. Are they rice-flour noodles? I like soft udon, but this isn't that. Basically, they weren't good. The broth was good. But I'd go again, because it's cheap.
