A nori bento shop right by Akasaka Station that's only open at lunchtime. The menu has just 2 items: the nori bento and a seasonal limited bento. I went around 1pm, but almost everything was sold out. This time I bought the nori bento (1,200 yen). The staff's customer service was really unpleasant, but the bento had quite luxurious ingredients and was very delicious. It's a memorable nori bento and definitely delicious, but it's also about twice the price of a regular bento, so would I go out of my way to pay this much for a bento every time? That's questionable. It's a hot topic, so it might be worth trying once.
View on GoogleSince it's a popular nori bento, I stopped by before visiting Hie Shrine. It opens at 11:00, and I'd heard it gets crowded, so I was waiting in front of the shop from around 10:57. When opening time came, a female staff member came out to hang the “open” sign in front, but with a sullen face she didn't nod or say a single word of greeting to those of us lined up — unfriendly. There was no invitation to come in either, so I went inside and asked, “Can I buy one…?” and she said just one word: “Yes.” The nori bento itself was delicious, but the service was so disappointing that even the taste didn't seem that great. She may be a part-timer, but I don't think that matters; I won't be back.
View on GoogleBought the Gold Nori Bento ¥1800. Actually, I also bought it yesterday (2023.1.31) at the Yasukuni-dori main store. I happened to pass by and saw it, so I ended up buying and eating the same bento at different stores two days in a row. At the main store I got a kind, polite explanation and service and was told the separately sold tartar sauce ¥50 was recommended, but at this store there was no explanation at all. The staff's service was mechanical and unfriendly... Naturally, the bento contents were exactly the same. The bento itself was delicious, but... I guess there “won't” be a next time. (Speaking of high-end nori bento, I felt that a certain “刷毛じょうゆ 海苔弁 山登り” lets you really taste the nori flavor, and its balance of ingredients and price are also appealing.) ★2.6 2023.2.1
View on GoogleMy child bought it for me Apparently it's been a hot topic lately Lots of different ingredients packed in pretty tightly, it fills you up The price is a bit high but every side dish was delicious There's also more rice than I expected
View on GoogleIf you like nori bento, you should try it. Every single fried item is delicious. But in Akasaka, where there are tons of delicious lunches for the same price, I'd end up going elsewhere.
