【Akasaka・A place in a back alley】 Lunch at a place called 「信」 near my office 😊 It's in a rather tucked-away spot, but every seat was taken 😯 You take your shoes off before entering 👌 This time I ordered the saba set meal 👍 When you're living alone on a work assignment away from your family, grilled fish is truly precious 😢 The saba is grilled until plump and tender. And the rice and miso soup that come with it are delicious too 🤗 I ended up getting another serving of rice. So good 😀 I've found another place I absolutely have to revisit ❗️ #信 #赤坂 #ランチ #サバ定食 #赤坂ランチ #グルメ #赤坂グルメ #東京 #東京グルメ #東京ランチ #定食 #隠れ家 #lunch #akasaka #tokyo #foodstagram
View on GoogleThe atmosphere, the conversation with the lady who runs it, and the set meal were all great. I thought it would be even more enjoyable if I had more time.
View on GoogleThe door looks like an ordinary apartment door, and you can't see anything inside, so going in for the first time might take quite a bit of courage. But open the door and you'll find a small but lovely space, run single-handedly by a very kind eighty-year-old madam. Evening service is the main focus, but apparently she started serving lunch around the end of 2024, half a year ago. There are several set meals featuring fish or fried dishes for around 1200〜1500円. They also come with several small side dishes, and all the ingredients are from Japan. Everything is delicious, especially the generously sized grilled salmon and saba miso made with red miso—absolutely superb!! The lady who runs it has never had a major injury or illness and is energetic enough to walk 1万 steps every day. Her friends who run other places often come by to eat too. The madam also paints and is talented enough to have exhibited and won an award at 国立新美術館 in Nogizaka. Her paintings are displayed in the restaurant. She has been running a restaurant in Akasaka for over 30 years. It used to be called 「ままや」, and she says she moved to the current location in 2020, right in the middle of the pandemic.
