What an experience. a very, very boutique restaurant in what appears from the outside to be a tiny apartment building. The menu is only is Japanese characters though which is really what made it a crazy experience for me. The staff are very traditional, as is the food, and it's all delicious.
View on GoogleHad dinner in Nishi-Azabu for the first time in a while, invited by a friend. There weren't many reviews, so I went wondering whether the food would be good. The restaurant operates on two floors, the 2nd floor and the basement. As a COVID measure, each is limited to one group at a time. This time we were in the basement private room. The entrance displayed "~sama." Even though there were only two of us, the space was roomy and relaxing. There's a hideaway feel since you can enter without being seen, and on top of that you can have it all to yourselves! What a rare place!! What we had this time ◆Osechi appetizer platter Kaleidoscope of uni and colorful vegetables, ikura, red-and-white pickles, squid with black bean natto, shrimp fritters, kazunoko and mizuna ohitashi karasumi, white shrimp with caviar, beef tataki and salad ◆Zoni, Hakata style ◆Hot pot: Matsusaka pork and leek shabu-shabu hot pot ◆Gyoza ◆Mapo tofu ◆Matsusaka pork hamburg steak ◆Daisen chicken karaage, spicy Sichuan style ◆Dessert: azuki Despite my worries, the food was very delicious! Since it was New Year's, we also had osechi and zoni, with Hakata-style and Kyoto-style versions — the menu was so extensive you'd never guess they only serve two groups a day. The Matsusaka pork shabu-shabu seems to be the restaurant's pride, and we finished it off with ramen. Both the hamburg steak and the gyoza were juicy! The portions per dish aren't that big, so even with two people we could try lots of things There are 15 kinds of wine by the glass — a great selection, and reasonably priced. As a wine lover I was happy and had plenty by the glass. Starting with champagne, then two whites and two reds, three glasses, with this food it came to about 25000 yen per person. And it was private!! The only thing: the service staff are always on the 2nd floor and come at very good timing, but it's a shame there's no call bell. To pay the bill, we had to walk up to the 2nd floor ourselves... That said, it's perfect for a discreet meal! (Not that ours was)
View on GoogleI was brought here by a business partner. It's a hideaway-style restaurant with a wide selection of wine. Everything was delicious, but the chawanmushi and the ayu were especially outstanding. It was my first time having ayu that could be eaten entirely with just a spoon. Thank you for the meal.
View on GoogleA restaurant operating private rooms on the 2nd floor and in the basement, featuring Japanese-based cuisine and wine 📍 The basement private room in particular lets you enter without running into anyone, and you order using the phone provided. It even has its own restroom, so you never even pass other guests — perfect for a secret date or a business dinner. The food is delicious, but maybe because of the area, I feel the prices are on the high side 😌
View on GoogleBoth B1 and the 2nd floor operate as private bookings, but the B1 private room is convenient to use. We ate various à la carte dishes, finished with shabu-shabu, ordered dessert too, and it came to about 25000 yen per person. Reservation availability is posted on their website, so it's easy to see when they're open. Today was the New Year menu, and it was nice to be able to have osechi and zoni (Kyoto style and Hakata style).
