I dined there tonight as a solo diner. Reservation was easy to make via Tabelog. The restaurant is unassuming, being able to speak Japanese is strongly recommended here. I enjoyed the course meal of small dishes plus 13 pieces of nigiri. I especially enjoyed the butan ebi and the akagai tonight. Both were insanely fresh and just exquisite. Chef is a quiet person, but he is passionate about his food. He is very passionate about guests not spending too much time taking photos and lectured a fellow guest to hurry up before the seaweed gets soggy. I appreciated that. You can tell how serious he is with his art. The only complaint I have is the uni was not the freshest tasting tonight, but overall does not affect the score. Thank you for a wonderful meal!
View on GoogleThe lady that served us drinks etc. is incredibly nice. The quality of the fish is O.K. But definitely nothing super special or mind blowing. At these prices, this is definitely nowhere near as good as other premium omakase places around. The smell of sewage inside the restaurant, the incredibly dated interior, and the chef’s attitude giving off a vibe that you’re not welcome there doesn’t help either.
View on GoogleGreat sushi, all goes back to the fish’s true natural tastes. Very very quiet ambience. You need a reservation.
View on GoogleBetween 2016-2020, the restaurant was a good one and had good ratings on Tabelog. Even though it still had fairly decent rating on Tabelog (3.72 at time of writing), the standard was far from the rating. We had a 19800yen omakase set. There were no otsumami/appetizers within the meal, and were served the same cut of tuna multiple times. At 20k yen (which is considered fairly upscale), this was really really very very disappointing. I know since I had visited many other premium sushi restaurants. I am so disappointed I am essentially speechless. How far the restaurant has fallen. Edit: providing more info since the restaurant was so adamant in its quality. Shari - Lacks acidity and in fact a little bit sweet. I didnt mind the slight sweetness as I found it unique. But not sure if edomae sushi should shari which acidity is so low. Repetition of dish - the red meat/赤身 of tuna was repeated twice. There was so heavy use of tuna and lack of variety of other fishes taste - decent but definitely not anywhere close to being worth 20k yen. I would consider if it were 10-12k yen. Chef - poor service and unattentive. Did not proactively mention the name of the fish when serving. Had to ask several times. His heart did not seemed to be in it. Try other sushi like Ryuujiro, Hashimoto or sushidokoro Yamato (20k yen only but much more amazing) or Sushi endo. Enjoy guys and hope you didnt fall for this scam! 😁
View on GoogleDelicious and fresh fish, and top notch hospitality! We had the omakase course, and were blown away by the fish quality, perfectly paired sake, and kind and welcoming hospitality. Highly recommended!
