Nice small and quite museum which focuses mainly on sculptures. Recommended if you are in the area or want to get away from the crowds. There are detail explanations of each artifact but in Japanese.
View on GoogleA very peaceful museum where you can see some worldwide art gathered by a true collector. They also have temporary events, we enjoyed some Japanese screens and local painters when we visited.
View on GoogleI really enjoyed this museum. It was very low-key. Not a lot of visitors. I went on a Saturday at 3pm You can get up close to the sculpture. I used the Grutto Pass so I didn’t have to pay admission.
View on GoogleThis is a private museum in Tokyo. Matsuoka is the name of founder and collector of this museum. The museum consists of two floors of the building newly established as museum and collection welcomed from former museum opened in 1975 at Shimbashi, central of Tokyo. Typical collection are bronze implements of ancient China at the Bronze Age. And also a lot of precious China house and exhibit. Furthermore, famous painter’s work you could find here.
View on GoogleGreat little museum away from the bustle. They've got some really old pieces, some in the BC eras, including an actual sarcophagus from Egypt. Pleasantly surprised.
