L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon is a French restaurant located on the 2nd floor of Roppongi Hills Hillside. The main seating is counter seats wrapped around a large kitchen. Its charm lies in a comfortable casualness that loosens the formal atmosphere just enough. In addition to Robuchon's classic specialties, there is also a prix fixe that lets you build your own course depending on your mood that day, as well as à la carte dishes you can enjoy freely. Perfect for anniversaries with family or a partner, a light moment after work, important business entertaining, or a luxurious dinner for one. Whatever the occasion, you can enjoy it without pretense, with a quality found only here. Enjoy a casual op…

L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon – An Exceptional Michelin-Starred Dining Experience An exceptional Michelin-starred dining experience in Tokyo, where everything comes together beautifully — outstanding food, exquisite presentation, impeccable service and an elegant ambience. From the amuse-bouche to the petit fours, every course was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented, with flavours that were equally impressive. We started with the amuse-bouche, including the crab toast and foie gras bonbon, which set the tone for an excellent meal. Among the cold appetizers, the La Betterave — beetroot and apple duo with herb salad and green mustard sorbet — and La Daurade, sea bream carpaccio with blue poppy and lemon vinegar, were particularly memorable. The hot appetizers were another highlight. We especially enjoyed La Morille, the morel mushroom fricassée with poached egg and Kadaïf; Le Chou-Fleur, the cauliflower cream soup with Iberico ham; and Les Asperges Blanches des Landes, the poached French white asparagus with mustard vinaigrette. For the main courses, La Lotte — monkfish Meunière style with turnip, chorizo and garlic chives sauce — and L’Épaule d’Agneau, the French Lozère lamb stew with rosemary Provençal oil, stood out. The Les Légumes, pan-fried seasonal vegetables served with basil-flavoured quinoa, was also excellent. And then came the desserts, which were every bit as impressive. The Le Paris-Brest, Le Cerisier with pistachio panna cotta and white chocolate espuma, and the Le Chocolat Signature with Araguani chocolate ganache, cocoa ice cream and powdered biscuit were all beautifully executed. The meal was finished with a lovely selection of petit fours. What makes L’Atelier particularly special is that the experience isn't just about the food. The presentation, precision, service and ambience are all at a very high level, making the entire meal feel like a carefully choreographed experience. A truly memorable fine-dining experience and one of the culinary highlights of our Tokyo trip. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience exceptional French cuisine with a distinctive Japanese touch.

I am absolutely furious, infuriated beyond words over this horrendous dining experience. I’d tried to let this terrible incident go, but walking past this restaurant in Roppongi today reignited every ounce of my rage all over again. Newsflash to the entire staff here: you people only know how to do fancy plating, and you literally have zero clue how to cook actual edible food. Learn to cook properly for once, it’s embarrassing. My partner and I popped in here spontaneously for dinner at night. The only halfway decent thing about this place is the interior decor. Everything else is an unmitigated disaster, total garbage from start to finish. The service was lazy, apathetic and downright rude right from the moment we sat down. Your staff couldn’t even be bothered to refill our water glasses. I had to remind them three separate times just to get basic water refills—how incompetent can you possibly be? Now let’s talk about the absolutely appalling food. My partner and I couldn’t stomach it anymore the second the main course arrived, so we walked out immediately. You’ll get zero review for dessert, we didn’t stay a single second longer to try it. First off, I ordered the cold fish platter. Your chef seriously needs to use his brain for once. Any sensible person would know that mixing lemon, herbs and loads of bitter, rancid oil tastes absolutely revolting、like rotten, fermented trash. I hate wasting food, so I forced myself to choke it down just to not throw it away. For the second course, chose the regular onsen egg and shrimp with no upgrades. it was literally nothing but plain onsen eggs and shrimp. Sounds harmless, right? Wrong. It looked tacky and cheap as can be, and that’s not even the worst part. I bit into a fried shrimp and got nothing but a mouthful of pure, greasy oil. It was so disgustingly oily that I had to spit the whole bite out into a napkin immediately. At that point, my partner was already begging us to leave and abandon the meal entirely. I held back, said we’d stick it out for the main course because I was starving and didn’t want to leave halfway through. Then the main course showed up: a fish dish cooked in some terrible Thai-style way. One single bite was all it took—it was so insanely salty, it felt like I was licking straight-up raw salt. That was my absolute breaking point.I marched right up to your staff, told them we were done and we were leaving. I even told them to make their chef taste their own disgusting food and explain why they over-salted it to an absurd degree. And do you know what your pathetic excuse of a staff said? They claimed the salt level was perfectly normal, and tried to blame my taste buds, saying I just have a low salt tolerance. I was so enraged I felt my blood pressure spike through the roof. We paid the bill in frustration and stormed right out of your terrible restaurant. Once and for all: stop wasting time on pretty plating!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Your cooking skills are abysmal. Do yourselves a favor and learn how to make food that’s actually enjoyable to eat. This place is a joke. Thanks for the worst dining experience of my life.

Had an amazing dinner at L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon in Roppongi Hills tonight – refined but relaxed setting, open kitchen running like a well‑oiled machine, each course beautifully plated with clean, focused flavors and a clear progression, and by the end I was so full I could barely walk out, yet nothing felt heavy.

I have dined at L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon Roppongi Hills Restaurant before. This time I was once again amazed and delighted at the staff’s service and hospitality. Staff members were consistently helpful and friendly in inquiries. I loved the presentation of the Salmon Tartare, and I also loved the Swordfish which was quite a tasting experience. Yet the complimentary snack at the start was a bit disappointing and just tasted ordinary. The Signature Chocolate dessert was presented in a lovely manner. But its taste was just ordinary chocolate, and did not hold much surprise. The daily sorbet and ice cream also was a disappointment for a Michelin star restaurant, as it tasted like ordinary ice cream. The only surprising and delicious dessert was the Yuzu Dessert. It had a delicately balanced sweetness to it while also some lemon vibes. Making it my favourite dessert out of all. The price for this restaurant has a very good value to it. Especially for lunch. But drinks are very expensive.

It's a child-friendly place that offers reasonably priced lunches, including a special kids' meal with fries and ice cream. The service is friendly and the food is delicious.
