Visited the popular Omotesando shop “菓匠 菊家” ♫ A short walk from Sando Station, its quiet, almost insider-only location adds to the strong feeling of “a wagashi shop worth making a special trip for”! ◻︎ Sakuramochi Neatly presented, with a gentle hint of spring spreading from the very first bite! The domyoji grains aren't too soft, yet feel fine on the palate, and the more you chew, the more pleasantly that chewy texture lingers ✨ The koshian inside isn't overly sweet, beautifully balancing the subtle saltiness and aroma of the cherry leaf ♫ Rather than flashy individuality, it felt like “textbook sakuramochi” with perfectly defined qualities, the kind whose goodness gently lingers after you've finished! ◻︎ 瑞雲 This one has the presence of a signature sweet! Built on a gentle, melt-in-the-mouth kimi shigure texture, its delicate crumble and mellow egg-yolk richness are very memorable 🤤 It looks simple, but dissolves in the mouth more elegantly than expected, with the sweetness fading cleanly away 🫢 Overall, this felt like a wagashi shop that “charms through refinement rather than showiness,” in both its seasonal fresh sweets and signature confections! It's lovely to find this kind of quiet deliciousness in Omotesando ♫ ❄︎Ordered menu ・Sakuramochi (460 yen) ・瑞雲 (420 yen) ꕀꕀꕀꕀꕀꕀFinallyꕀꕀꕀꕀꕀꕀ Thank you for reading to the end ✨ I also post delicious restaurants and lovely places on Instagram, so please come take a look! ✨✨✨ ⁂Instagram account name⁂ @gourmet_ryo_20s If it looks delicious, please feel free to like, follow, and save ✨

A wagashi shop in the unusual location of a building's 9th floor. Looking at the address, the building has the same name, so perhaps they own it. The elevator opens directly into the shop. The proprietress welcomes you in a kimono, and jonamagashi line a small display case, with some non-fresh sweets too. I bought autumnal acorn- and persimmon-shaped jonamagashi and rikyu fuyaki. Both the acorn and persimmon had smooth koshian. The acorn had a modern flavor with a cinnamon aroma. The fuyaki had an interesting texture I'd never experienced before. Since it was sugar-coated, I thought it might be like a rusk? But it was neither crisp nor crunchy, instead having the distinctive texture of fu. The sugar coating doesn't crumble off, yet dissolves elegantly once in your mouth. After my purchase, as I stepped into the elevator, she said, “Thank you for coming up here. Please visit us again.” Such a gracious send-off. It made for a lovely morning!

菓匠 菊家” Omotesando, Kotto-dori. The 9th floor of 菊家 BLDG. After reading a novel about wagashi, I visited because I wanted to try jonamagashi. I'd only pictured wagashi shops as large, house-like places, but this one was unexpectedly on a building's 9th floor. A little nerve-racking. All the jonamagashi in the display case were beautiful. When I pointed out sweets I was interested in, they explained what was inside. I chose a rose with yuzu an and a gardenia flower with brown-sugar an. Both tasted refined, with the gentle sweetness of koshian filling my mouth. The rose in particular released a soft yuzu aroma, with a tart astringency like yuzu peel, and was incredibly delicious. It felt rather nonsensical that I couldn't pair these tea sweets with green tea, but even on their own, they made for a wonderful afternoon. Well then, thank you for the meal. It was delicious.

『菓匠菊屋』, also selected among the 100 best wagashi shops A long-established shop founded in 1910 It used to have a charming traditional appearance, but because the building had deteriorated, the shop is now in a refined modern building. It reopened after renovation in 2021. Since the shop is upstairs in the building, it's easy to walk past, but there is a shop sign at the entrance as a landmark. It's on the 9th floor of a building on Kotto-dori in Omotesando. Take the elevator to the 9th floor, and you're immediately in the shop. Looking around inside, you'll see delicious-looking jonamagashi lined up. All the wagashi sold here are handmade. Its seasonal tea-ceremony sweets are a particular specialty. There are various other wagashi too A brown-sugar peanut sweet called 黒落花 caught my eye. That's what I ordered this time. The brown-sugar peanuts made by this traditional confectionery shop had a refined flavor and were delicious.

I never imagined there was a wagashi shop from the 100 best list on 9F in Omotesando Took the elevator to 9F I'd seen mizu yokan recommended, so I asked, but was told its season had already ended So, the cute-looking Kikuzukushi, jonamagashi for 550 yen When I asked the owner for a recommendation, they suggested 瑞雲 for 420 yen, so I chose that They accepted PayPay! They put it in a box and wrapped it so carefully; I was impressed!
