If they could make it a little less salty, it would taste even better. Overall, it’s good. I chose the spicy option since I’m not a fan of sweet curry. They’re generous with the gravy, and both the chicken and pork are very crispy.
View on GoogleA popular curry rice restaurant located in the basement entrance of an old mixed-use building in front of Shimbashi Station. Its appeal lies in the convenience: simply purchase a meal ticket from the vending machine at the entrance, find an empty seat, and place your ticket on the table to order. In a way, this restaurant offers a taste that could be considered the pinnacle of Japanese curry rice interpretation. It features two basic curry bases: European-style and Indian-style. You can choose toppings to customize your dish as desired. The European-style flavor is a Japanese interpretation of British curry, while the Indian-style is a Japanese interpretation of authentic Indian flavors. It allows you to enjoy a taste shaped by Japanese sensibilities. It has a moderate level of spiciness, so it's not recommended for those who dislike spicy food or have sensitive stomachs.
View on GoogleI had a lovely chicken cutlet curry meal in Karikaru. It's a small restaurant in Shinbashi with a casual vibe. You order what you'd like before you enter the restaurant, give the staff your ticket, take a seat, and watch them make it right in front of you. All of the seats are around a counter facing the kitchen. I ordered the spicy curry with chicken cutlet and rice, and it was delicious. They put the curry in a gravy boat to pour on. It also came with some sides included. I ordered a draft beer, but they also pour water for customers when they enter. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Karikaru is a nice casual dining restaurant. Nothing fancy, just good curry at a good price. If I find myself hungry for curry in Shinbashi, I would definitely go again.

View on GoogleLet me tell you a story. For many a year I wondered the earth aimlessly. A lost soul. A roving spirit, searching for meaning in this cold, dark world in which we inexplicably find ourselves. I felt there had to be more. However that all changed on the fortuitous day that I made the best choice of my life - dining here. Believe me when I say, my visit to this esteemed culinary establishment guided me to the beacon of hope in the world - chicken katsu curry. Like a moth to a flame, as soon as I found myself in the environs of Shimbashi station, I felt a magnetic pull to Karikaru. Upon entering the aforementioned restaurant, my senses were lifted to levels previously thought impossible. As if I was stuck in a euphoric trance, I ordered a chicken katsu curry, and duly consumed it with all due diligence and resolve. My dining experience at Karikaru was nothing short of an absolute delight, one which I faithfully recommend to all weary travellers seeking a rejuvenating meal away from the bustle of one of Tokyo's busiest stations. Truly, you will not regret it, and if you're anything like me, it may just change your life.
