A casual izakaya in a basement very close to Omotesando Station. In a good way, it feels unlike Omotesando, serving inexpensive, reasonably decent food both day and night. The menu is extensive. Food arrives quickly too, so it could be handy when you're short on time for lunch or want a quick drink in the evening. This time, I had the karaage set for lunch. With 4 pieces of karaage, a side salad, rice and miso soup, a small side dish, and pickles for 1,000円 including tax, it's perfectly reasonable considering the location. Went in before 12:00 during weekday lunch hours. I found it while walking around looking for new lunch places. I was short on time, so I gave it a try. I ordered 豚生姜焼き定食 set　850円 That's cheap near Omotesando Station! It arrived after about 5 minutes. First, a bite of the ginger pork! Hmm, tough^^; Maybe it was overcooked; the meat is thin and tough. Maybe the grilled fish would have been better^^; Next time, perhaps I'll get the grilled mackerel set. Thank you for the meal. ※Credit cards can also be used at lunch.

At 廻船呑屋, right near Omotesando Station, I had 冷やし稲庭うどん and a mini ソースカツ丼. It seems to have many regulars. The 稲葉うどん that arrived was more substantial than I expected, nicely chilled and delicious. The ソースカツ丼 was also fried crisp—good. It's quite a spacious restaurant, but 2 staff members were running it. Their brisk, efficient movements were impressive.

※You're better off not trusting this restaurant's menu! I visited for lunch on Saturday. It was my first visit, and the place was practically empty. I ordered a lunch item because the photo showed that it came with vegetables, a small side dish, and pickles, but what arrived was only a rice bowl and soup. I waited a while, thinking the rest might come, but there was no sign of anything being brought over. When I asked a staff member passing nearby, they said those extras only came with set meals. I said I had ordered it because they were listed on the menu, so how could they not come, and asked them to remove that information from the menu if they weren't included. They reluctantly brought a small bowl of macaroni salad and a token amount of pickles. It might be a small thing, but if they weren't included, I wanted that explained beforehand. With other customers having ordered the same item, getting them brought only to me still didn't feel right. I worried I had been seen as the bad guy and couldn't even eat in peace.

After the 『Meguro branch』 closed shortly before the COVID pandemic, I visited the 『Omotesando branch』, where the manager from back then works, for the first time in 3 years. Tさん looked as well as ever and was running the Omotesando branch, which is larger than the Meguro branch, with 2 people. I had the nostalgic 『空芯菜』『ハムカツ』『おにぎり（鮭）』 and 『飛魚のなめろう』, which wasn't available at the Meguro branch. At 廻船呑屋, ordering a bottle gets you 『water, soda water, ice』 free, so keeping a bottle there is recommended if you plan to visit regularly. At the Meguro branch, it was 『富士山麓（later discontinued at Suntory's discretion）』. Now it's 『White Horse』.
