A restaurant with classic French cuisine, had a really nice business lunch. The apple tart with a scoop of ice cream was exquisite.

Superb French cuisine for a very reasonable price. The chef genuinely loves to cook, and it shows.

Great value for lunch

The last chance to dine at Kaeriyama. The course where you choose an appetizer and main, or the omakase course… after much agonizing, I chose the 9,000 yen omakase course. I asked to change the course the day before💦 On the day, I was surprised when I heard the course explanation. The second appetizer plate was white asparagus! Imported directly from France, the first of this year's season, apparently. Thank you, Chef. I would never mistake it as being for my sake, but I absolutely, absolutely love white asparagus. The surprise of it still being March. And getting to have white asparagus at my last meal. I trembled. The main fish dish was, I was told, the chef's signature: fresh fish baked in pastry. Of course, it is the chef's omakase course after all. It had to be. Packed full inside, the pastry crisp and flaky. How does the pastry not go soggy… I wonder if the photo conveys it. My descriptions of the dishes would be clumsy, so please allow me to skip them. And finally. Though only a few times a year, I am grateful to have been able to enjoy delicious meals for over twenty years. This is the first time I've been conscious of the years. I have been in your care for such a long time. Even during the COVID pandemic, you followed the strict restrictions and kept the restaurant open. I remember feeling relieved to be able to enjoy a rich meal with a friend for the first time in a long while. I will always remember Kaeriyama-san's cooking. It is a very precious memory. It's truly sad that these memories will no longer be renewed. I can only offer ordinary words, but Restaurant Kaeriyama, thank you so very much.

2024/6/XX (Lunch) Among French restaurants in the Akasaka・Tameike-Sanno area, this place serves lunch at relatively reasonable prices. This is my 4th lunch visit in total. As for lunch prices, there used to be menus in the 1,000-yen range, but now there are three course options: 4,400 yen, 6,600 yen, and 8,800 yen. This time, I had the following course for a business meal. ■Lunch Menu＠4,4000 yen (tax included) ※Three-course meal: hors d'oeuvre, main, and dessert ◆Hors d'oeuvre ※Country-style pâté terrine with homemade pickles or today's hors d'oeuvre or today's soup ---From today's hors d'oeuvres I chose 'marinated Japanese sea bass with potatoes.' An hors d'oeuvre combining Kitaakari potatoes with marinated sea bass; the red onion sauce gave it a refreshing flavor, and I thought it was a summery hors d'oeuvre. ◆Bread ---There's thinly sliced bread and regular baguette, and they refill the baguette without you having to ask, so it's stress-free. ◆Main ※Today's fish dish or crispy pie-wrapped baked red sea bream or poêlé of Chiba Prefecture red chicken or today's meat dish ---I chose the house specialty, the crispy pie-wrapped baked red sea bream. As before, the crispness of the pastry is wonderful, and inside, the umami of the steamed red sea bream and vegetables is packed in tight; a piping-hot, delicious pie-wrapped bake. It pairs well with the beurre blanc sauce too, delicious as expected. ◆Dessert ---Chose the crème caramel. A crème brûlée-style pudding with a caramelized surface. Served with vanilla ice cream with a sablé stuck in it, it was delicious. The other dessert, mango mousse, also looked delicious. ◆Coffee ---I finished lunch with a medium-roast coffee with solid body. Overall, it's a restaurant where you can enjoy classic French cuisine carefully made with traditional techniques; the portions are generous for lunch, and it's delicious, so satisfaction is high. The restaurant is small yet has an elegant atmosphere, with polite and attentive service. For this content at this price, I think it's very good value for a French lunch. Thank you for the meal.
