I stopped by at noon on a Thursday and found the restaurant only about 20% full. The decor is clean and typical of most Chinese restaurants in Japan, run by Chinese expats with Japanese television playing in the background. I ordered the tan-tan noodles with pork chop for JPY 1,250. You can choose the spiciness of the broth and the firmness of the noodles. The pork chop was paper-thin, though the flavor was fine. The dish also included two small pieces of braised pork and a pinch of boiled spinach. The broth was thin and spicy but lacked depth; unlike typical tan-tan noodles, there were no nuts, ground meat, or much oil. While the noodles were okay, they were served in a tight batch that required significant effort with chopsticks to loosen up. The portion size felt light. It is understandable that restaurants try to maximize margins, but this place seemed to be cutting corners too much. The low number of customers during a weekday lunch rush should have been an indicator. The entire dish was bland, and against my better judgment, I gave it a try. I will not be returning nor recommending this place.

The food here is awesome. We each had a Dan Dan Ramen with pork cutlet and both were amazing. Highly recommend eating here. Just be prepared with Google Translate as there is no English translations here and the staff do not speak English.

【Visiting a tantanmen specialty restaurant…】 I took advantage of a brief trip home from Ueda, Shinshu, to stop by. I think this used to be a yakiniku restaurant that made garlic its selling point, but it had changed into the tantanmen specialty restaurant 『寿限無さん』. I visited for the first time at lunchtime on a weekend♪ The interior felt a little smaller than the entrance suggested, with 8 counter seats and 3 table seats. Since I was alone, I was shown to a counter seat! I ordered 「排骨担々麺」 and chose the regular spice level, since you can select it. I chose firm noodles. The meat was spicy and crisp, and the mildly spicy soup was easy to drink. Since you can choose the soup's spice level, I picked regular, and the balance of mild heat and soy sauce was just right and really delicious♫ It paired very nicely with the thin, straight noodles, and personally I thought it was similar to the dandanmen at 『はしご』. As a rare tantanmen specialty restaurant, it also has an extensive menu, and I think it's a place that makes you want to try all sorts of other dishes(^^)

English translation below The staff are pleasant, the prices are reasonable, and it's a nice place. They also have à la carte dishes, so it might be handy for popping in for a drink on your own. However, fans of dan dan noodles might find it a little lacking. You can pay with PayPay. The staff are friendly, the prices are reasonable, and it’s a nice place overall.
