Fairly new soba restaurant that offers speedy service, low price and delicious soba! Still can't fully appreciate the 100% soba powder, but the hot soba and veggie rice bowl combination was wonderful on a cold winter day! Crowd Size: High-ish Payment Method: PASMO

View on GoogleI tried the Tamachi branch of さがたに, a 100% buckwheat soba chain, at lunchtime on Saturday. There were already 5 groups when I arrived, but not enough to require a wait. Buying a meal ticket from the Suica-compatible machine automatically sends your order to the kitchen, and you wait until called. I ordered 大もりそば. A simple offering of もりそば, dipping sauce, wasabi, and scallions. The soba is apparently 350g, a large serving. It's said to be 100% buckwheat, but it's smooth, with a pleasant texture and easy swallow. The buckwheat aroma is clear too. The dipping sauce is a little salty. There's plenty of it. After eating, you can add the soba cooking water on the table for a comforting finish. It might be a good option when you feel like a little soba.
View on GoogleCrispy, fluffy kakiage × 100% buckwheat soba—this level of satisfaction right by the station is impressive An easy quick stop near Tamachi Station, yet the quality is solid. I ordered 「温玉かき揚げそば」. First, the look: the kakiage is substantial enough to get you excited. Freshly fried, with a light, crisp coating and onion sweetness that bursts from inside. Not too oily, and easy to enjoy. As you'd expect from 100% buckwheat soba, it has a distinct aroma and just the right firmness. The broth is on the sharp side and seems to bring everything together. Breaking the soft-cooked egg midway through makes it instantly mellow, and it's nice that it really changes the flavor. Despite the casual feel of a standing noodle shop, this bowl gives you that proper “I've had soba” satisfaction. Very satisfying even for lunch on a busy day.
View on GoogleA rare place in this part of Tokyo that's also open on Saturdays and Sundays, with a bright interior atmosphere too ◯. I've had freshly fried but terribly greasy tempura at another branch of this chain, so this time I ordered かけそば450円. The wakame is self-service, so you get wakame soba at no extra charge. (Later reproached myself for taking too much.) The counter is shallow, and the overhang above it gets in the way of your head while eating, making it awkward. A candidate for another visit around Mita.
