Was almost empty when we visited on a weekday at 1130. Service was pretty fast as a result. The staff was very helpful as I had a toddler with me. We at first sat upstairs but changed our minds later and were immediately brought the child seat out to al fresco dining. Upstairs area can probably seat 35 people, another 40 in the outdoor area and around 15 on the ground floor. Food wasn’t too warm when served and the flavor was just alright. Green Shakusha tasted as exotic as I expected, but not overwhelming…just right for the average Japanese diner.

the menu is kinda unique. i had a hard time choosing what to eat for brunch. green shakshuka was really good. peri peri wings was okay (we had an issue with it but they apologize and cook another batch) service was okay. not all of them are attentive and fast. drinks are a bit pricey for me and nothing special. i like the place especially the al fresco dining while you bond with friends/family and people/car watching.

Very disappointed indeed. Expected that quality of foods and service would be good when knowing that it is one of the good restaurant in NYC. Peri peri Chicken was served burnt and dry out. Ordered Prego Roll with Rucola salad but it came with French fries, we are not even bother to ask the staff again as the food came late already. Our foods came very late (almost one hour after we ordered), it came even after the three/four tables that arrived and ordered after us. We did asked staffs for a reason because we thought that they forget. Staff told us that they have only one chef but that’s customer’s problem! Very bad and poor organization. After all , at least Freda’s fishballs and Roasted cauliflower were good.

The food is good, however green shashkusha is quite small. The service is very mediocre and should be improved. For example, first we got the seats on the second floor, but later we asked to move to the outdoor terrace. There was no problem to move but the stuff did not help us to move our dishes or brought us forks and knives until we asked. Another example, I specifically asked to bring the dessert after we finish our main dishes, and yet the cheesecake was the first thing we got. And there were even more mistakes when it come to a service.

Was looking for a cafe for a quick lunch when I stumbled upon this place which was almost empty when I visited on a Saturday. Thankfully the staff spoke English and I was able to place an order with ease. Ordered a serving of fries with an avocado on toast and a lemonade. The portion was generous and taste was also delicious. Would definitely head back again to try their other menu options.
