I came for lunch. The friendly proprietress recommended the wood ear mushrooms, saying, “They're our specialty! They're delicious!”, so I ordered the pork, wood ear mushroom, and egg stir-fry set meal. It was so good! The cheerful proprietress said, “It's authentic Chinese food!” Her husband doesn't say much but has the air of a craftsman, and I had a fun, delicious meal. It seemed to have lots of regulars, and it's a place that makes you want to keep coming back.
View on GoogleThey seem a bit unmotivated, but it's cheap and delicious (the alcohol is cheap too). When you go up the stairs, there's a smiling Chinese man who looks like he'd cook something delicious, and the Chinese lady's characteristic sales manner is comforting. Whenever I come after 21:00, I'm the only customer, so it might be a hidden gem. I'll leave the menu here.
View on GoogleThis Chinese restaurant has been around for 40 years. The four of us—my parents, my aunt, and I—visited for the first time, and everything was so delicious that we polished it all off. Everyone agreed it was delicious and was delighted, so we're definitely coming back. We were full after 7-8 dishes + 4 draft beers + 4 soft drinks, for a total of around 8,000円 for 4 people. Next time I'll come with my husband.
View on GoogleA retro Chinese restaurant not far from Shirokane-takanawa Station. There's a cook with limited Japanese and a friendly proprietress. The atmosphere will really divide opinions, but I like it. It's a classic Chinese-owned restaurant with old-fashioned charm. The pitchers are sticky, the beer dispenser is dusty, and the plates are chipped. For a 20-year-old youngster like me, though, it felt like a taste of the Showa era? and I enjoyed that. Now, about the food. This time I ordered the liver and garlic chive stir-fry set. It came with liver and chives, zha cai, white rice, Chinese soup, and almond pudding—a very generous meal. You can also get a large portion of rice. The last liver and chive stir-fry I had was at 日高屋, so that's my comparison. Here, everything was coated in a rich, thick sauce, and the vegetables were fairly well cooked. At 日高屋, the vegetables are crisp with a pleasant texture. The liver and chive set cost 1210円 including the large-rice surcharge. Given the neighborhood, I felt it might be a little more expensive than elsewhere, but overall I was satisfied.
View on GoogleI go often because it's nearby, but I'd still want to come here to eat even if I moved away. The Taiwan ramen is especially delicious. There are lots of expensive restaurants around here, so I'm also grateful that I can come casually with my child. They'll even make a half portion of ramen for children. The evening drinks set is incredible value. I find myself worrying, is this price really okay? I hope they stay healthy and keep going for a long time.
