北海園Hokkaien
【6-minute walk from Nogizaka Station】「北海園 」 is a long-established Chinese restaurant in Nishiazabu. We offer more than 200 authentic Chinese dishes, including appetizers, vegetables, meat, seafood, and noodles. Dishes featuring premium ingredients such as shark fin and Peking duck are also reasonably priced. Our signature 「酢豚」, with a gentle texture reminiscent of tempura, and 「蝦と玉子の炒め」, with a superb balance of texture and flavor, are exquisite dishes we particularly recommend trying. We also offer many courses with all-you-can-drink options, ideal for various banquets. Our alcoholic drink selection is extensive, but we especially highlight Chinese drinks such as Shaoxing wine, Chinese baijiu, and osmanthus wine. Perfect with Chinese cuisine…

We came here for dinner and it was completely empty. While their menu was large, I felt like they were missing some basic items you expected from other Chinese restaurants. The waitress seems not interested in assisting us and was hard to get her attention as she just had loud conversations with her coworkers in another room. The food were as generic as it could be. This place is probably a lot better for lunch but I recommend just skipping it for dinner. They also do not take credit card. Only cash or paypay.
View on GoogleUnfortunately, a major disappointment. The service was cold, uninterested, and unwelcoming. In Japan, where you can usually expect excellent value for money almost everywhere, this restaurant stands out for all the wrong reasons. The prices are high, but the quality of the food is poor – both the fish and chicken seemed substandard. Many dishes were also drenched in grease. On top of that, there was a stale odor throughout the restaurant, which made the experience even less pleasant. Far too expensive for what is offered and not recommended.
View on GoogleI know, you don’t go to a Beijing restaurant for dimsum but it was nearby. Ambience is legit (read: neither modern nor pretentious). I had luobo gao, shrimp shaomai, xiao long bao and xingren doufu. It was just ok but better than that local takeout chain.
