Best Dan Dan noodle restaurant I have ever visited! It is a treasure, and you know it because locals know and stream here for delicious noodle soup. Lines form and move through quickly, with a yearning for something authentic. You need to pay cash, but it's very inexpensive. Flavors jump from your bowl! Free steamed rice, and I suggest garnishing with yellow pickles to add a measure of zest. Good, good, good! Might not want to bring a group unless you are OK with splitting up into ones or twos -- seating is all at the counter and limited.

This place is Cash only, but has The best Fried pork ramen and gyozas!! I order my ramen spicy and it was delicious, but order mild if you don’t like spicy food. The side of steam rice is so good with the pickled veggies they have available. Their staff is very friendly and will show you a menu in English. I have to say this is not a place to hangout for a long time, locals come to eat and leave right away; Therefore, the wait times for a seat are always short. Highly recommended this place.

The owner was very friendly and helped me order. The "spicy" chicken ramen was delicious. The steamed dumplings were as well

Went during lunch rush on a weekday. Excellent service and the noodles were in a broth that was topped with a pork cutlet. Must visit for a no frills lunch that will fill you up for cheap (1200yen for the #10 as of Sept 2026) Cash only. In and out.

Shinamen Hashigo in Akasaka has been a beacon of traditional and delectable tantanmen and ramen for ages. Their mastery of the craft is evident in every dish they serve. The tantanmen, featuring homemade sesame sauce and hot chili oil, is a symphony of flavors that leaves patrons craving more. During our visits, my wife, friends, and I have savored the tender golden fried pork tantanmen, a perennial favorite. However, I recently ventured to try the thin strips of chicken tantanmen, and I was pleasantly surprised by the depth of flavor and tender texture. While we have yet to explore the gyoza, the shaomai has been a delightful addition to our meals, boasting a perfect balance of filling and wrapper. The tantanmen at Hashigo might not match the fiery heat of its Sichuan counterpart, but its subtle spice and rich aroma make it a standout dish. For a taste of authentic Japanese-Chinese cuisine in Akasaka, Shinamen Hashigo is the place to be. With their decades of experience and commitment to quality, it's no wonder they've garnered such acclaim.
