Tucked amidst the bustling sophistication of Akasaka, my initial foray into Tokyo’s celebrated Harry Potter–themed establishment proved to be nothing short of spellbinding. Strategically situated adjacent to the iconic Golden Snitch staircase and the neighboring wizarding retail outlet, the venue immerses guests in a magical realm from the moment of arrival. While access requires no separate admission ticket, securing a table well in advance is essential, as seatings are capped at a strict sixty-minute window to manage the constant influx of eager diners. What truly elevates the experience beyond atmospheric novelties is the remarkably polished front-of-house hospitality. Upon arrival, the staff demonstrated exceptional attentiveness, proactively consulting on dietary restrictions and meticulously taking note of individual dining preferences. Their informative and accommodating approach ensured a seamlessly tailored, worry-free lunch for everyone at the table. Though the menu itself is intentionally concise, each offering bridges dramatic visual homage with genuine gastronomic appeal. The whimsical presentations bring the beloved universe to life without ever sacrificing taste or technique. Paired with polished service in a high-demand setting, this brief yet vibrant meal stands out as a singular, delightful highlights of Tokyo's themed dining scene.
View on GoogleA great cafe for Harry Potter fans, however, the food is very limited for vegetarians or vegans. We waited approx 1.5 hours to be seated - slightly frustrating as at one point, there were 2 only tables with customers. In order to make a reservation, you need to get in a virtual queue by scanning the QR code at the front of the restaurant. This then allows you to book onto the next time slot. As a vegetarian, we were able to have the butter beer pancakes, but believe they were a limited edition item. These, however, were delicious and so were the drinks. I would recommend going for the experience, only if you have time to spare.
View on GoogleThe food tasted great but the portions were very small for the price we paid. I expected more Harry Potter decorations but all they had was a giant wand and hardly any portraits that didn’t even move. There were about 2-3 dish that were themed and the rest looked like regular dish. There were plenty of space and only foreign tourists eats here. No need for reservations as the restaurant is slowly losing business so there’s plenty of walk in tables available.
View on GoogleThis cafe is not worth a visit even for a big Harry Potter fan. I have lived in the UK for nearly a decade so was interested to see the Japanese take on British food. Unfortunately, this cafe's take was nearly inedible and I left most of my meal untouched. The cafe and nearby shop and theatre venue have great Harry Potter decor. But, at most, only stop at this cafe for a drink. The online ordering system did not even provide basic descriptions of the food and drinks, so I wasn't even sure what was I ordering. The toasty tasted repulsive, outside of the fact that I think it contained an ingredient I'm allergic to. I took one bite and then put it aside. The butternut squash soup that came with it was decent but in a minuscule portion. I ordered the Wingardium Leviosa drink, but I couldn't tell you what was in it. I have no idea since the menu gave zero description. All I know is that it contained a few slices of apple as a garnish and tasted fine. The butterbeer ice cream looked nice but was so icy and hard that I didn't even finish the single scoop. It was garnished with three chocolate broomsticks, which were chocolate dipped pretzels. For whatever reason, the cheese flavored pretzel sticks were used so these were disgusting. For the pleasure of looking at the worst food I have eaten in 6 weeks in Tokyo, I was charged over 4,000 yen and the booking fee will allegedly be refunded to my card in the coming weeks.
View on GoogleLoved this place! I had the beef and cheese toastie with pumpkin soup. It was excellent. We also tried the Expecto Patronum cocktail 10/10 The butter beer 🍺 was amazing as well. We booked the night band were able to get a table the next day.
