I thought it was an udon place, but it's also an izakaya collaborating with a well-known local sake shop, where you can casually enjoy sake and shochu. They also have oden and drinking snacks, with no appetizer charge, so I recommend it for a quick stop.

Super-soft Hakata udon. In fact, I ask for extra-soft noodles here. Kashiwa meshi and gobo-ten are a must!

Who knew you could eat Hakata udon in a place like this! Hakata udon may seem to lack firmness at first, but its characteristic is its soft, chewy noodles. Back where it comes from, udon with burdock tempura is apparently called gobo-ten udon, and I enjoyed it. It has the atmosphere of a standing udon shop, but you can properly sit down to eat. And it's more reasonably priced than the surrounding shops. Recommended for anyone who wants delicious food at a low price!

Had the gobo-ten udon and kashiwa meshi set for lunch. The udon is soft, but delicious. Kombu-broth udon isn't something you often get in Kanto, so it's a rare treat. The gobo-ten has an amazing aroma. The kashiwa meshi is even better. It's packed with concentrated chicken flavor. Alternating it with the udon can send you into an endless loop. I usually don't finish the broth, but I couldn't control the urge. Ahh, I drank it all. Rather than feeling guilty, I just wanted more. Recommended.
