I stopped by here for lunch completely randomly and it happened to be open (apparently is not normally open for lunch), and got the lunch set with the chicken cutlet. The food and service were both excellent; the set came with salad, soup, rice and egg custard.

After very rude service at two other local Japanese restaurants I came here and instantly regretted bothering trying the other places. The food is superb, of course, and the service is also great. The Japanese menu is a little difficult to read but they will patiently explain anything you can't read.

San Chan is a genius! Don’t come here if you don’t appreciate good food. 8800 yen for omakase but worth every yen of it!

A rare lunch opportunity, available only for 2 hours (11:30-13:30), Tuesday–Friday. It's a popular restaurant that's full even before 13:00, but the staff work efficiently and the atmosphere is lively. The toriten set has a crispy coating and juicy interior, making it light to eat. The refreshing sauce and mustard pair perfectly. The rice, with a choice of portion size, miso soup, and pickles all taste carefully prepared too. The piping-hot chawanmushi packed with ingredients, served afterward, is another welcome touch. Paying cash gets you 10% cashback—a good deal. At night, they seem to have an appealing menu that would go well with drinks. I'd definitely like to return if the timing works out.

This restaurant is about 3 minutes from Shirokane-takanawa Station, and the owner was an entertaining person. Of course, we were served delicate dishes, with seasonal ingredients deliciously prepared, and thoroughly enjoyed them.
