Impressive and free camera museum, art display and Fuji camera demo. So much to see, learn and touch. Smart phones and portable video recorders have dominated the general usage but camera lens systems still have a purpose for imaging and video capture.
View on GoogleStumbled across this museum while walking around Roppongi! I really like cameras and photography so it was interesting to see and read about the history of photos and cameras. There were also different exhibitions on the floor. But it‘s just one room so do not expect too much.
View on GoogleDespite nowadays most of us are solely using mobile camera, I still can think of two very good reasons to visit this museum. Firstly, it’s very nice walking through the memory lane to look at photography history, which helps us understand why we are here and how lucky (or unlucky) we are to live in the status quo. Secondly, there are still limitations to mobile camera and by watching their exhibition, we may have some ideas on why we should still consider purchasing a conventional camera (a powerful one of course). I really don’t mind that the organiser has some hidden agenda in mind because I do enjoy the show.
View on GoogleIf you’re even slightly interested in the history of photography, this is a place you must check out! It’s free and the photos they have on display are particularly interesting but the main attraction are the cameras in the museum. Seeing the evolution of the camera and learning about the history of photography in Japan was delightful. Unfortunately no photos are allowed in the museum which is ironic for a company that builds cameras.
View on GoogleFree museum. Just okay. Not enough for me to recommend. Had some old and new cameras on display. I didn't understand why they were interesting or unique or distinctive. Two different photo galleries. One of a person I didn't know and another of various outdoor scenes. Both were good.
