Equal Cafe is a plant-based café restaurant centered on the theme “eating = bringing balance to mind and body.” In harmony with nature, without any compromise on flavor. We aim for a sustainable food future where everyone can nurture a healthy mind and body. Our café was born from this simple philosophy under the supervision of Yusuke Nomura, who has earned stars from a world-renowned gourmet guide and a Green Star for Japanese cuisine. Our goal is “comfortable, delicious everyday food that makes the body happy” for everyone, rather than a “restricted diet” for particular people. To that end, without relying on animal ingredients or synthetic additives, we carefully draw out the ingredients' natural flavors…

They offer the futuristic ambience, convincing seating, windows view seating, and it’s vegan (so, for me personally, it’s considered as moslem friendly). Accept any payment methods and the matcha milk is affordable but delicious in the same time.

Great food and fully vegan! The curry is rich and aromatic, and the white truffle elevates it beautifully. Definitely a dish I’d order again.

A plant-based café in Takanawa Gateway that brings balance to mind and body I visited “Equal Cafe,” a café restaurant focused on plant-derived menu items, just a short distance from Takanawa Gateway Station. The interior feels open and has a very stylish atmosphere. This time, I had curry and a drink. Cacao and hazelnut curry What surprised me first was the depth of this curry. With one bite, cacao's distinctive subtle bitterness and rich aroma waft through your nose, followed by a gentle spicy heat. The richness of the hazelnuts is clearly present too, creating a very layered flavor. The accompanying vegetables (purple cabbage, broccoli, lotus root, tomatoes, and more) are colorful, with enjoyable textural accents! Although plant-based, it was thoroughly satisfying, and afterward I felt refreshed, as though my “body had regained its balance.” Iced almond milk latte For my drink, I chose an iced almond milk latte. The characteristic lightness of the almond milk highlights the coffee's aroma, making for a very refined latte. (By the way, my companion's iced coffee came in a stylish bottle, which also looked very chic!) Overall assessment A wonderful place that overturns the preconception that “healthy food is unsatisfying.” Perfect when you want to relax in a stylish space or refresh yourself from within. If you're around Takanawa Gateway, this is a place I'd definitely encourage you to stop by.
