Known for its affordable tendon lunches, this place fills up with students and office workers at lunchtime. Perfect for days when you want a quick bite◎ ・Vegetable tendon The portion almost spilling out of the bowl was a surprise✨ It's piled high with colorful vegetable tempura, including sweet potato, green pepper, and eggplant, and looks appetizing from the start. The batter is light and crisp, letting you fully enjoy the vegetables' natural sweetness and savory flavors. The tempura sauce gently soaks into the rice, keeping every bite enjoyable to the end🍚

As usual, wandering around Tamachi at 11:20 a.m. Ended up walking all the way to Mita again. Spotted a tempura sign. Nice. In the mood for tendon. It opens at 11:30, so I wait a little. Opens right on time! Sit at the counter. Nice atmosphere. Decided on the seasonal tendon for 1,300円. I can hear tempura frying. The bowl arrives after about 7 minutes. The toppings include shiitake. I can't eat that. Shiso leaf, bamboo shoot, okra and such, and small shrimp. Everything is crispy and delicious. The rice is a little soft. Thank you for the meal.

This is a small, family-run tempura restaurant. It's tucked away in the basement of an office building, but it's a distinguished, long-established place celebrating 54 years in business this year. I was working remotely on a weekday for the first time in a while, so I visited just after it opened before noon while exploring the neighborhood. As the first customer, I was kindly offered either the counter or a table. I figured that even if it got busy, I could eat quickly and leave just after 12, so although I was alone, I accepted the offer of a table. 『Premium tendon/1,800円』 The tendon probably took about 15 minutes. A bowl piled high with carefully fried toppings arrived. There were 7 kinds: anago, shrimp, squid, kisu, green pepper, sweet potato, and eggplant. The squid had an unusual perfectly square shape, and the sweet potato was a red variety. The main attraction, the anago, was substantial enough to be split into 2 lengthwise pieces, with both ends extending beyond the bowl—an impressive presence. By contrast, the shrimp was very small, or, to put it kindly, a cute little accent. There's also a menu item with 4 shrimp, which are presumably bigger. The 3 vegetables were ordinary, but the seafood overall seemed lightly fried and felt a little watery. That may divide opinions. The pickles and miso soup were delicious too, so I think it's a decent set overall. Everyone who came later and looked like an office worker chose the “kakiage don,” so perhaps I'll try that next time.

Within walking distance of the Mita exit of JR Tamachi Station and Mita Station on the Toei Mita Line. A long-established tempura specialist, located on basement 1F of a building. Payment is after the meal and generally in cash. The interior has a calm atmosphere, with counter seats, tables, and a raised seating area catering to different customers. Lunch is either tendon or a tempura set. The premium tendon is delicious, but the set meal is appealing too. I thought kakiage might be the right choice if you're having a rice bowl. Incidentally, the set meals don't include kakiage. I'd like to try the kakiage don next time.

I came to Tamachi to attend a training session. I got a late start for lunch, but luckily got in right away. I ordered the much-talked-about kakiage don. With little time to spare, it was ready surprisingly quickly, and I enjoyed it piping hot. The generous small shrimp and crunchy texture make it addictive. Do give it a try.
