I recently visited Dam Brewery in Toranomon, and while the atmosphere and service were top-tier, the food and drink unfortunately didn't live up to the hype. The Food: Form Over Substance The biggest disappointment was the Fried Chicken with 3 Sauces. I found it to be quite overrated for a few specific reasons: • The Crust: The chicken was heavily wrapped in corn flakes before frying. While I appreciate a good crunch, there was too much coating, leaving hardly any actual chicken meat underneath. It felt like eating a fried cereal bar rather than a poultry dish. • The Sauces: You get three options, but they were lackluster. All of them shared a very similar sweet profile; there was no tang, no heat, and no complexity to differentiate them. • Pricing & Portioning: The dish felt overpriced. Curiously, they provide an excessive amount of sauce—roughly 50-60% more than you’d ever need for dipping. It feels like a waste of resources that likely drives the price up for the consumer. The Brews: Lacking Character For a place with "Brewery" in the name, the beer selection was underwhelming. • Flavor Profile: The beers were thin with no real body or depth. • Variety: There weren't many choices on tap, and the ones available tasted quite "light" and forgettable. If you’re looking for a robust craft beer experience, this might not be the spot. The Silver Lining It wasn’t all bad! There are two areas where Dam Brewery genuinely shines: • Location: You can't beat the convenience. It’s in a stunning spot and incredibly easy to access via the Hibiya Line. • Service: The staff were amazing. They were helpful, attentive, and provided a warm welcome that made the experience much better than the food alone would have. Summary: An average experience at best. You're paying for the prime Toranomon real estate and the great service, but the kitchen needs to dial back the corn flakes and rethink their flavor profiles.
View on GoogleLocated at the T-Market in Toranomon, this restaurant served good crispy chicken with their own beer. There's different dish such as Fish and chips, salmon sushi, french fries and snack pizza, but the main course is the crispy chicken. You've three "size", S, L and M. The chicken is served with three sauce and they give you plastic gloves to dip the chicken and eat it. The chicken is really good, perfectly crispy and moist, great taste. The three sauce are really balanced, not too sweet. Their beer are great too, the IPA is not too bitter if you don't like bitterness. Easy to order through a QR code, menu in English. The staff is generally friendly, there's a lot of places, so great to come with several people. The crispy chicken is a bit expensive, the S size is two pieces and cost 1500¥, overpriced for me.
View on GoogleBrand new craft beer and fried food restaurant in the basement of Toronomon Hills Station Tower (with more restaurants to open soon) Impressive start, with some very tasty Japanese craft beers on tap, and excellent service. Only comment may be to offer fries as well as crisps and some items are small, but definitely enjoyed the food.
View on GoogleImpromptu meal possible! Walked in on a Sunday night and was seated right away. @dam_brewery_restaurant was pretty dam good. Guacamole came with a side of theater. Roasted cauliflower with tahini and chili crisp is inspiring. Jerk chicken and crab cakes are solid. We all indulged in a trio of desserts. Cassata was my favorite
View on GoogleGood taste. I love omu-naporitan. Tomato based spaghetti on the omlet on the skillet.
