The dinner-only soft noodles are a must-eat! Superb sara udon enjoyed at a relaxed pace in Akasaka Had the sara udon (1,100 yen). Visited at dinnertime with a reservation. The calm interior wasn't crowded, a hidden-gem kind of space where you can enjoy your meal leisurely. The sara udon I came for has a great perk: at night only, you can choose "soft noodles". The piping-hot, umami-packed sauce with plenty of ingredients clings firmly to the chewy noodles, so well executed that you can honestly say it's undeniably delicious! The mapo tofu I ordered alongside is seasoned a bit sweet, but it's deep and rich, and addictive in its own way. I also had beautifully browned gyoza and appetizers, making it a very satisfying dinner. Last order is a little early at 20:30, so it's best to aim for an earlier time. A renowned restaurant in Akasaka where you can savor reliable flavors. #Kinyotei #AkasakaGourmet #SaraUdon #MachiChuka #DinnerOnly A Must-Try Dinner Exclusive! Exquisite Soft Sara Udon in Akasaka Enjoying the Sara Udon (¥1,100). I visited for dinner with a reservation. The restaurant wasn't too crowded, offering a relaxing, hidden-gem-like atmosphere where you can dine in comfort. The highlight of the visit is the Sara Udon, where you can choose "soft noodles" exclusively during dinner time. The hot, umami-rich thick sauce with plentiful ingredients clings perfectly to the chewy noodles—it's undeniably delicious and highly satisfying! The Mapo Tofu we also ordered has a slightly sweet seasoning, but it’s rich, addictive, and delicious in its own unique way. Along with beautifully browned gyoza and appetizers, it was a very fulfilling dinner. The last order is a bit early at 20:30, so I recommend visiting on the earlier side. It’s a fantastic restaurant where you can savor authentic flavors right in Akasaka.

Kinyotei|A beloved neighborhood Chinese restaurant in Akasaka. A solid spot where the signature champon shines A long-established Chinese restaurant located a short distance from Akasaka-mitsuke Station. At lunchtime it's bustling with local business people, and many regulars come for the generous portions and consistently good food. The signature champon is especially popular, one of the flagship dishes that has been loved for many years. While it's a casual neighborhood Chinese spot, you can enjoy a wide range from à la carte dishes to rice dishes. This time I had * Champon * Gyu-tama-han (beef and egg rice) * Fish with sweet and sour sauce * Takana jako fried rice a combination that lets you enjoy a wide range of Kinyotei's popular staples. ⸻ What I had today Champon The signature dish loved since the restaurant opened. The soup has a mellow tonkotsu base, gentler on the palate than it looks. The savoriness of plenty of vegetables and seafood melts into it, and the more you drink, the richer it gets. With the added aroma of stir-fried vegetables, it had a somehow nostalgic flavor. It pairs well with the noodles too, a bowl you can enjoy to the end without getting bored. Gyu-tama-han A popular rice dish combining fluffy, runny egg and beef. A generous amount of egg cooked to a semi-soft finish is used, and it comes together perfectly with the rice. You can really taste the savoriness of the beef and the sweet-savory seasoning, so your chopsticks keep going. The melting texture of the egg is pleasant, a highly satisfying dish. Fish with sweet and sour sauce A classic Chinese dish of fried fish with sweet and sour sauce. The batter is light and crispy, and the fish is plump and tender. The balance of sour and sweet is good, and eating it with the vegetables makes it even tastier. Though well seasoned, it's not heavy, a dish that goes great with rice too. Takana jako fried rice Fried rice that makes the most of the flavors of takana and jako. The saltiness of the takana and the savoriness of the jako spread throughout, simple yet addictive. The rice is cooked light and separate, with the comforting deliciousness typical of a neighborhood Chinese place. Perfect for nibbling between the main dishes too. ⸻ What makes Kinyotei great Its biggest appeal is that while it's an unpretentious neighborhood Chinese restaurant, every dish is consistently well made. Centered on the signature champon, there are no misses from rice dishes to à la carte plates, and it's fun to come as a group and share. Once you actually eat here, you can really see why it's been loved by the community for so many years. ⸻ About value for money Portions are generous overall, and it's quite satisfying for both lunch and dinner. Since they have everything from à la carte dishes to noodles and rice dishes, another plus is that you can enjoy it in many ways depending on group size. ⸻ Overall A solid restaurant that any neighborhood-Chinese lover should visit at least once. The flagship champon of course, but the gyu-tama-han, fried rice, and à la carte dishes are all reliable too, and whatever you order is highly satisfying. Recommended when you want to casually enjoy tasty Chinese food in the Akasaka area, or when you want to share a variety of dishes with a group. If I get the chance, I'd like to try their other set meals and noodles too. Thank you for the meal!🍽️✨

Slightly sweet, with an addictive sauce, Akasaka's famous sara udon Kinyotei's sara udon, which a few times a year suddenly pops into my head and makes me crave it. I usually come here for lunch, but if you ask me champon or sara udon, I'm definitely "Team Sara Udon". After placing my order with the lady at the shop, while waiting for the food, I happened to glance at the next table… and there was the very familiar scene of a Chinese-food drinking session: century egg, bang bang chicken, gyoza, and beer. Thinking, "I see, using this place like that at night totally works too," the star of the show, the sara udon, arrived. It looks a bit plain. It has shrimp, octopus, green onions, bean sprouts, and so on, and when you mix the sauce with the crunchy thin fried noodles and take a bite, it's pretty sweet! Probably among the sweetest in the whole sara udon world. First, enjoy this unique sweetness to the fullest, then add vinegar for the second half. Apparently some people also like to change it up with sauce. Everyone eats it their own way, but this perfectly sweet sara udon has a strange addictiveness that makes you inexplicably crave it every now and then. Next time I'd like to come at night and try a variety of the à la carte dishes that caught my eye. Dinner on the way home from work at Kinyotei, a place I'd always been curious about. The atmosphere already looks great from the outside, a long-established spot in Akasaka-mitsuke. The mains are sara udon and champon. You can drink here too, and lots of people just come to eat. Sara udon with crispy noodles and a gentle sauce. Maybe it's the dashi coming through, but it's overflowing with umami. I'd never had sara udon like this. I fell in love with the flavor. The teamwork between the proprietress and the dad, and the vibe, are irresistible. So soothing.

I had the champon. The smooth, rich soup and the crisp stir-fried vegetables both went really well with the thick noodles, very well executed. Next time I want to try the sara udon too.
