I went in skeptical of the unusually high ratings, but this really is a good restaurant. First, the interior is retro, full of Showa-era atmosphere. As more neat, polished places appear, this retro feel is very precious. There seem to be various debates about whether the New Shimbashi Building will disappear due to redevelopment, but I'd really like it preserved. The taste is simply outstanding. The appetizer platter is inexpensive for this generous portion, and delicious.
